A couple of things from a Rammus main: 1. Sorc shoes are a great option on Rammus as it massively ramps up your damage. Swifties as well, letting you stick to people to auto them and get around the map faster. Merc's are good if they have a lot of CC but honestly, Plated are disappointing on Rammus compared to the others. 2. Ult is honestly not worth leveling beyond the first point as it doesn't get a lot per level. Rather spend that point on one of your other abilities 3. Frozen Heart is pretty bad on Rammus, as slowing the attack speed of someone makes them take less damage from your thorns effects. Only useful if they have a lot of auto attackers that you need to protect your team from. But even then, you're Rammus. You should be doing great against them already. 4. That ult at around 2:25, cancelling your W is a throw, come now Okay. Alright. Yeah. Hmm.

You have others in the team to deal damage. A tank wants to stay alive as long as possible to give the carrys more time to deal damage. The tank also needs to be buffed up because he dives in head first.

Yeah all absolutely viable! Sorc shoes is good but it would be an odd team comp if you need more damage from the Rammus - but for solo queue sure! Frozen heart is just the most efficient item in the game at the moment, sure you’re maybe not getting attacked quite so much occasionally but once again it’s just about understanding your role on the team, if you’re trying to make Rammus into a magic damage bruiser play the likes of amumu instead! And yeah haha was trying to get the kill onto my carry so turned off W so it couldn’t accidentally take it, ended up taking it anyway but if you’re playing a more bruiser Rammus maybe you want the kills?

Also note his R leap distance scales with move speed, so if you build up enough Q move speed you can R from further away.

Flash can clutch sometimes but even though it has been nerfed, ghost increases rammus’ Q speed and ult distance.

Ghost is definitely solid on Rammus but I do love the flash for being able to flash over things to land Q!

Imo q is better to engage and ult to dissengage, I know that you miss the knock up and bit of damage but its like heaving a second flash. Baus always talks about that

As a rammus, how do you deal with Lethality jungle champs who are obliterating me even with thornmail? I’m not sure how to build against that. Nocturne, Briar, Darius, etc.

Honestly lethality is pretty bad into armour for the most part, champions like Darius tend to rely on their true damage to get through you, but yeah more armour will just outscale them!

I miss last season's Evenshroud + armor + magic pen build where you get insane burst damage when enemies auto attack you.
