Hey Lisa- It's Massachusetts Kathy from the MCS, so bummed I could make it this year. Anyway I found your channel a few weeks ago and am enjoying the heck out of it! Thanks for all the great information.

Lisa, nice job. While I don’t pole (yet) in my canoe, I do use that same juice recipe on my wood lathe turnings. Then a quick coat of paste wax. I take my rags and paper towels directly to the fire pit no matter the time or weather.

Thanks Lisa! I get folks to bring 5-10 gallon containers, food barrels or lots of large dry bags to my poling courses now, to put some weight in the bow. It made me happy to see you doing the same.

Thanks Lisa Dehart, You Inspired Me to Invest in some 1960's West German Wool Pants, I first stumbled across your Video last week, It showed up on my feed and I'm a New England Bushcrafter and just went out last night, simple outdoor Camping, been wanting to Invest in some Proper Winter attire like My Grandfather and his before him, So I'm Tickled, I found a Killer cheap pair off of eBay and they will arrive in the Morning. Yeeeeeeees! If you can believe it, some folks are selling for $80-$150 of Our woolies, I Luckily enough got mine for under $20 an Exact size. Very nice.👍👍 Probably should be noted that because of the linseed oil, the rag shouldn't be wadded up and put in the trash can. Linseed oil can self combust in a wadded up rag. Rag should be layed out flat on a rock, on a concrete floor or hung on a fence to dry first. Love and have just about watched all your videos.😊😊

Yes, Janson that should definitely be noted. Because of that, you can also use a paper towel to apply and then toss in the wood stove.

Hey Lisa, I'd appreciate a 3 minutes on how you transport poles, especially on trucks or vans with a rack.

How heavy do those wooden poles get when they become saturated with water? This is why I have an aluminum pole but replacing can be expensive at $75 for a 10' pole. I started with a dried and treated piece of bamboo but it soaked up water and got heavier than I cared for so switched to aluminum.

Ash poles don’t saturate with water. They’re like ash paddles. Spruce poles don’t either. Peavey Manufacturing East Eddington Maine makes the ash. You’ll pay for a good pole what you will for a good paddle. My ash poles came from there in 1992. I’ve still got them and they do nothing but work.

I guess I'm such a noob that I'm not even sure how or why you'd use such a pole for canoeing. I've mainly canoed in fairly deep rivers & lakes in the Midwest.

Lisa has done a video on it.. in shallows you don't have to get out and wade or portage and you can go up stream too Happy canoe camping from the UK 🇬🇧🛶🏕😀😊

@@andrewvanada52 no worries did you know? that this hydro powerstaion of a woman NÈVER paddles ďown RAPIDS ALWAYS POLES, that's incredible and that takes the highest levels of skills and balls of steel.. this woman would make Fire lighters and pole juice out of Ray Mears and Bear Grills needs a TV programme
