Ive been watching a TON of climbing videos past months and by far I like your video's the MOST. Straight to the point, good explanation and most of all PERFECT length of video because video's longer than 10minutes,...I'm gone! 🤪 so keep up these amazing video's !!!! 🙌🙌🙌

The progression bar was a good idea. I’m sure people will hate it for some reason but as some who scrubs around videos a lot, it was really helpful.

All three of these mistakes are currently part of my drop knees, I'm excited to put this into practice.

Love your videos, I started climbing about 2 years ago (2021 was a bit of write off with covid so about a year ago realistically!) and always use them to refer to as I aim to improve my climbing level. Currently in between V3/V4 and just been working on technique really. Would be good if you could do a vid about pro's and con's of different types of climbwear, I usually go in shorts and t-shirt but my knees got properly shred up last week using a knee bar technique so going to try out jeans for the first time this week. Meg was cool, I think she should do some routes that require some good heel hooks next!

Do you only use drop knees on overhangs? Super beginner here

Best climbing videos not too long and full of info. Would love to see an average training week balancing volume, max days, finger training, stretching etc and how you find balance in your routine between all the key needs as this is the stage I am at. How do you fit everything in as so much is recommended

I'm confused as to how any of these were drop knees, these were just turning to have your hip against the wall. That would be like saying a flag is a drop knee. My rule for drop knees is that it must be level or below your other foot, hence the term "drop". All your advice is stellar but that's just for hip and core rotation while climbing, not really drop knees. I might be wrong, but then everything that is not a knee facing the wall is a drop knee. Which seems like a pointless and confusing distinction for new climbers. (Tip three @4:34 is the only one is call a drop knee)

You are indeed wrong. Drop isn't a strict term and doesn't always mean the knee is pointed downwards. The point is you have your foot on separate holds (or smearing the wall but still distributing your weight onto two separate points), you lean your weight onto one foot while you rotate your other knee to push your hips in. There is a scale of aggressiveness to a drop knee- the one's shown in this video aren't very aggressive but they are definitely still considered drop knees.

@@John-mi9dx but by that definition almost every single move that isn't directly facing the wall is a drop knee which is 80% what climbing is, especially in early levels. Seems like a useless Distinction when you can just call it a rotating knee or rotating hips since your knee isn't really doing anything and not really dropping. Seems like that's just going to confuse newbies. I guess this is the hill that I die on lol

@@TarikVannYeah I'd agree with you, hardly any of these were actual examples of drop knees. John I get that the term can be a bit vague and there's room for interpretation but take the 7:05 example, nothing was even close to a drop knee.

I am totally guilty of trying to dropknee things which should not use a dropknee lol... good advice for slab specifically. The new set on the wave wall has some fun problems :)
