Moving the door and closing off the hall to the dinning room instantly made your living room so much bigger even if only visually. Love the solution for that bedroom door too. All the plaster looks great... Will you keep the wood stove in the bedroom? Or is that one the one moving to the lounge room? The front door looks so nice and perfect for the house and area.
@taddy834 ай бұрын
@@mrspickle8285 thanks! The wood heating will be relocated from the new master bedroom to the new lounge area. Has been a bit wet and cold here of late to have a gaping hole in the roof and to be without heating. Need to keep it burning to help plaster work and glues etc to dry. Hey there..i just found your channel two days ago..congratulations on the house... its going to look amazing when you are finished with it.. i wanted to ask how did you come across the abandoned house to.buy it.. im wanting to move to tassie eventually.. and have been checking out real estate agents but having no luck yet with what iam after
@taddy834 ай бұрын
I had been trying to buy something within my budget for over 3 years! I had put offers on over 13 properties over asking price and been outbid or screwed over by agents. I ended up putting a "wanted to buy" ad on gumtree and the owner contacted me about it. Initially the amoumt of work and condition turned me off and there were still legal issues that had to be dealt with on it. I tried to buy several other houses in the meantime when the owner contacted me again 12 months later and asked if still interested and that the legal stuff had been settled. I went and had another look and the views just captured me. It was a long drawn out negotiation to get to a sensible price and very difficult to get finance on a non habitable property, but i pulled off what seemed to be the impossible and bought the property with a little left in the kitty to do the essential renovations to make it liveable. It will be a long term project to do the outside works needed.
