I love the cabinet and storage bench idea! Could you possibly show (in a future video maybe) exactly how they are attached with the L brackets? I’d like to do this and I’m not sure how much I would need to do for cabinets like these. Your videos are really inspiring for me. You are really showing me that someone my age (53) can do this without buying a $150K dollar van built out by someone else. Enjoy your travels and be safe! 😊

I like those lights, just found them in your Amzn store but the downside to me (but can be an upside) is thay they are battery operated. I like that yo an extent but you need to use a screwdriver to access the battery port.. now I that I do not like! I liked those lights bectof the magnet but they are not rechargeable so they will eat up on batteries. I have livedcin a tent and I know how often you run through batteries if uour main light source is battery operated. This is why, I personally prefer rechargeable magnet tap light. (3 colors, ¹ cool white, ² white, ³warm white.) It is dimmable & magnetic. I personally prefer this light, use it all the time. (Have one next to my bed & one attached to my electrical box.) Though, currently I am inva mobile home but my hall light is out so we here use these lights throughout the place. (I save battery operated for last resort to be honest.) You know those rechargeable solar lights that you would attach to your fence or your house? I personally like to use those, you can run string through the scree holes and hand somewhere in the sun during the day. (They also have ones that are magnetic. You attach a magnet and the nickle piece to things then you stick it to whatever and Vah-la!) I like to take these putside and lay them outside and whenever we need them we bring them inside and then we have light not using any from any power reserve and needing to buy batteeies, from the store..etc! Makes things so much easier for us and we have several of them so we can switch out and have some on reserve incase it is raining or something so we always have some sorce of light no matter what. This is an idea that I i thought could be great and be helpful.. plus not many people think of this and would over look this option.. being in a car/van etc. But, looking up solar lights outdoor waterproof.. this would give people an option of something they may not have even thought of.... (Just trying to help.) If I could help one person with this idea, then it was well worth it! Because, this idea can help everyone... Now just car/van lifers. But people in house (emergency light, perfect for power outages), and when I was living in a tent this woulda helped so much!!! Waterproof light that didn't use batteries or a USB to charge. (The rain ruinee my portable chargers that I used for charging my phone and I also had this little light that ran right off the charger. They were ruined by the rain. The flashlights etc that ran off of betteries would quickly drain the batteries and needed to change the batteries every day. So, this is an extremely useful item for those living in a tent!!! ❤) Take Care & Stay Safe!!!! I wish you all good health! Safe Travels!

new to your channel..... do you mind if I ask why you switched from your pull-trailer to a van? I am on the fence right now about purchasing a van versus a small trailer like you show in your channel banner photo.
@TinyTexanAdventures7 ай бұрын
Welcome to the channel :-). First, I have to say that I absolutely LOVED my little Casita. I lived and traveled it in fulltime for 4 years. For me the switch was for several reasons: 1. As often as I change locations I was growing weary of the set up and breakdown every day or so. if I were going to stay in places longer, I would’ve stuck with the Casita. The Van allows me to easily change locations without the need for hooking up and unhooking and all that goes with the set up. 2. Because I have so much cross-country travel coming, I wanted a vehicle that would fit in a regular parking space and I could park it anywhere on a whim. It’s also easier to stealth camp as it looks like a work van. 3. For safety reasons. With the camper if I felt threatened in any situation I would have to get out of the camper to get in my tow vehicle. With the van I can just jump in the front seat and drive away. I had zero complaints about the Casita except it didn’t fit my constant travel plan as efficiently.

How did the shelves and bench hold up with the driving?
@TinyTexanAdventuresАй бұрын
So far they are still in tact and traveling well (and I have been down some SERIOUSLY bumpy roads)!

With no insulation.... How do you stay warm n or cool??? How do you deal with moisture issues??
@TinyTexanAdventures5 ай бұрын
The plan was always to add insulation but I was doing things in stages as funds would allow. I was able to be comfortable at the time because of the moderate temps in the area :-). As far as condensation, I use an electric dehumidifier and always have several of the little plastic ones on hand too :-)
@R-cg4on5 ай бұрын
@@TinyTexanAdventures I totally understand about funds...... For sure. Funds are the reason I haven't hit the road yet.
@TinyTexanAdventures5 ай бұрын
It has definitely worked well for me to do it in stages plus I’m learning what works and doesn’t as I go so I can just change things at will :-). I’ll have a 6 month video update coming out soon :-)
