This is one of the most beautiful and inspirational KZbin videos I have EVER seen (and I'm 58 so I've seen alot). "I was running to something." Wow! Love it. Thank you for being so open and down to earth. A few minutes into your video I texted my 20 year old daughter Abi and wrote "I LOVE you SO much." Thank you for sharing about your daughter and your life. Dr. Rios

This is from the gal in the hat w camera & binos after a night of riding out the storm in her tent....gators & herons.... I am so thankful I walked by Indie that day & we ended up visiting. As you said, so many have lost someone to suicide. I miss my big gentle guy who lost his battle against what 'Nam did to him. I've thought of you often & am praying for you. If you ever need an ear or a hand, you have my number. There's a reason I had to go walk by Indie to see what he was that day. 😊 I screenshot the suicide info at the end of this video to save just in case I need to pass it on. We all need to have the dialogs w people we know & not assume they don't have an inner battle they are losing. I know this was a very emotional video to make but it may save a life. Thank you for being vulnerable & real. I will stay in touch & look forward to catching up w ea other again sometime. Watch out for buffalo & gators....

Love this comment so much ♥️ You made me tear up and laugh at the same time. I too am very glad our paths crossed at the state park and I don’t believe it was by accident at all :-). Suicide seems to be effecting so many more lives now so I just want Ally’s story to be heard in hopes it will fall on the right ears at the right time. Thank you for sharing your own painful loss with me and your memories too. I’ll check with you next time I head back that way and see if you are around ♥️

Thank you for sharing this touching story of hope & perseverance. Im still wiping away my tears. I am sorry you have had to go through so much tragedy in your life. But, thank you for opening your heart and sharing this part of yourself. Your story is going to help so many people and I'm sure it already has. Because, if you can survive what you have, than I think I can survive the petty trials and turbulations I stumble through daily. I hope to see you on the road someday. Happy trails.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your life with the world. As I watched this video I was overwhelmed with the feeling that your courage and vulnerability in sharing this painful chapter in your life, is very likely to save someone’s else’s life. This story adds connection, camaraderie, and hope into the world in profound ways. I could feel that you shared this from a place a deep love for your daughter and for this world. I appreciate your willingness to do that so much. I started following you because we pick our casita next month.I hope to live in it someday. I wanted to see how you did it. OMG 13 years old.. omg. there are no words really. People deal with tragedy/trauma in different ways. I hope to see you out there on the road.. as a survivor... of many traumas, PTSD has made me very restless and I will have to keep on the move once I am no longer working. The movement, the newness around me, keeps my brain from thinking about the trauma.

I believe in your story, in you, Christie. The path you chose when this all started. This channel, you, have a lot to share. The deeper lessons that can be shared with others as well as the belly laughs with tears (bloopers....camp etiquette...oh, my! 🤣!). There is a lot to learn. Not just about creating your special space (our cocoons) but the whys, the lessons learned, the beauty all around us God has created for us to explore & enjoy, the amazing ppl He brings across our paths to bless & grow us. I am looking forward to seeing how this endeavor grows & unfolds for you & the rest of us. It is $ well invested. I am already sharing links to it. We can each choose to be bitter or better. You have chosen the high road & are making Ally's life continue to count & bless by growing & sharing through #TinyTexanAdventures. Praying.... ❤ & ❤for Ally.

I am a new subscriber as of today. I commented on another video about my son's struggle with suicidal tendencies. My son has always struggled with the social scene but is very intelligent. I guess I wasn't surprised when he told me his intentions, but at the same time, I am grateful he asked for help. I appreciate your story and making people aware that we should check on our loved ones we think are thriving and happy at face value. We never really do know other's struggles. You are such an inspiration to share your daughter's story and help bring awareness. Thank you for your videos and your kind words of wisdom as I'm sure they are helpful to many.

I found your channel last year when I first learned about Casitas. Came back to it this month after finding my very own '21 Casita Freedom Deluxe that I will be purchasing next month to become my full time home. You have been such an inspiration, I just know I am ready to do this alone because you have. You are such a strong person and positive influence on this community. I would have never imagined the tragedy you have lived through. I have survived many years of depression and suicide attempts of my own, and have moved so many times trying to leave the past behind and start anew. I think I have finally reached a turning point in my life to where I am now running toward the life I have always dreamed of because people like you have taught me how to create my own happiness. Thank you for sharing all your adventures in your Casita. I hope to make as many beautiful memories with mine.❤

Oh Christie, your video made me cry. Thank you for sharing your story. Your daughter sounds awesome and your strength is amazing and inspiring (as are your videos, btw - I just recently discovered you and became a subscriber). My teenage daughter has had some mental health challenges and self destructive habits that make me worry about her a lot. Every day she is safe and alive I am grateful. For my husband and I, nature is therapy, and we are excited to be picking up our Casita in about a week from now, after being on order for 16 months. As my daughter prepares to graduate this spring, I am learning to "let go and let God" and am looking forward to adventuring in our Casita. God bless you on this journey, and thank you for sharing your adventures with us on KZbin, as well as your Casita know-how! As a first-time RV camper, it is so helpful to have others sharing their experience! Enjoy your kayaking trip. I am a kayaker too, and going to the San Juan Islands sounds awesome!

That was very unexpected and very touching. I'm learning about the Nomadic lifestyle because my daughter with Down's Syndrome just turned 45 years old. After caring for her all of her life and most of mine. I am horrified at the thought that we will have to say goodbye at some point. She is the light of my life. My SS is 600. a month. We have decided to get a Casita and start traveling around. Your story although not your intention, certainly has given me direction and the affirmation I need to go forward with this plan to have some great adventures now and hopefully keep me from living in a cardboard box on the street later. I am so sorry for your loss. Your little gidget is just the cutest I've seen.. Thank you.

I applaud your honesty and courage. I can’t begin to imagine your grief…mostly because I don’t want to. I let go of my ex-wife by first breathing in and breathing out, and putting one foot in front of the other…and then by catching one fish at a time. Fishing was the only distraction that would change my focus for an extended period of time. I practiced self-inflicted solo endurance fishing for years…but fishing eventually turned into an enjoyable passion for me. I am planning to visit my daughter in Colorado this April, after completing my income tax obligation, and then dropping down into the Texas ‘chimney’ to initiate a genuine ‘Christi adventure’ across Texas beginning at Caprock Canyons State Park. My plan is to fish the Texas State Parks as I travel East to I-35. If that doesn’t satisfy my fishing addiction I will continue across to the State Park where you went near the Louisiana border to fish the Cyprus trees instead of heading North to Nebraska. Is there such a thing as a Texas State Parks guide? I have always been impressed with your expedition videos…I still want to be like you when I grow up.🤓 Hugs, Robert

Thank you so much for sharing! I can’t imagine the pain you must’ve gone through. I have a first cousin who went through the exact same thing, and she actually did exactly what you did which was to sell the house and her and her husband bought an RV. She has turned the tragedy around through all her travels and made it as a way to reach out to others who might be considering suicide. I just found your channel a couple of days ago. I’m very interested because you are approximately my age and you are traveling alone with your dog. My last child just moved out of the house and I’ve been divorced for several years. I’m considering doing exactly what you do. I want to see so many parts of the western United States, that I’ve never seen. I will soon be a retired teacher and I’m really excited about this idea. Can’t actually relate to the horrendous amount of pain of losing a child, being that I never let anyone get close enough to miss, with the exception of my father. Mourned him every day for over 5 years, all the while just barely functioning. Thankfully someone stopped in, while on their way across Texas. He put up with my pathetic self for a few hours, then mocked me & said, “You know that dishonor the dead by not living every day to its fullest? Your dad would be greatly disappointed that you’re not living the life that he is no longer able to enjoy.”. I too wanted to be the next Jane Goodall, but wasn’t about to spend 12 years inside a building to be able to do what I loved most, which was being outdoors my animals. She was a sensitive kid, & everyone flocked to her, but ages 12-13 are the hardest & most hopeless when you realize the amount of the disparity in the world & that there’s only so much that one person can do. That’s a lot of weight on a young person’s shoulders… I can still identify, even though it was nearly 50 years ago. Your beautiful daughter was much too kind for this world. Thank you for honoring her & keeping her spirit alive by sharing your story & doing what you both love.

New sub. Hearing your story touches across many emotions… Deeply moved at what you’ve shared and sad for the loss of your beloved child. We never get over such a devastating loss. With God’s grace and understanding that our loved one lost their reach to us in their pain. We get through it with each step we take, as you have, to survive for those remaining, and then someday for ourself. Other YT channel startups have spoke the same words, “I don’t feel so alone by sharing my journey with all of you.” Its part of the healing. Look fwd to seeing the places you’ve been and yet to be😊 God Bless.

Yes the reliving of memories are crucial to see us through and help us rebuild our life again. A friend, who had a devastating loss, once shared with me her realization. To die so young they couldn’t possibly measure all that’s been lost and what a life of many years could hold. Its knowing this that adds to our grief, those years lost… We continue to grieve with each new experience we have. I understood her point held truth. I came to accept they did live their “full” life. Not one I’d hoped but completed none the less. Just as our future has yet to unfold we can’t miss it, only after living it do we long for it once again. Understanding it in this way helped ease my grief and I stopped the “What if’s” at each new discovery. Our loved ones can, Rest in Peace, when we make our Peace here on earth. Stay well. 😊

I admire your attitude and enjoy your adventures. You're going to be okay. You have found your "THE Thing" that lifts your mood and helps you get through difficult times. It gets you to look around and see beauty and it helps you to enjoy yourself. I had only begun to enjoy taking a few trips in Texas in my RV when family crises hit. It didn't stop me from traveling but it made me feel I should be close to home if an emergency arose. By following you and other KZbin RVers, it's helped me to continue to feel some of what RVing brings to your life. I still look forward to the day I can feel comfortable making my own trips again. In the meantime, I'm where I feel I need to be and still enjoying some of RV life through y'all. May God continue to bless, protect, comfort and uplift you.

I started watching your channel simply to learn about the Casita and camping but I’m in awe of you and your experiences. Hi and thanks for watching/subscribing and for the uplifting comments:-) Texas Hill Country has some wonderful places, I hope you enjoyed the trip :-) At some point I want to make it back to AZ to visit Antelope Canyon (and X), and check out the Quartzite gathering. When I was there a few years back the rain had the canyons closed so I missed the chance then but certainly want to return :-). When I make it back that way I’d love to visit by the campfire. Until then, safe travels!

@@TinyTexanAdventures I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, getting to visit old friends in San Antonio, but also finding new camping spots to return to, like the Kerrville-Shreiner park, and the South Llano River State Park - worth going back to see again! AZ has a monsoon season, and there can be widespread flash-floods, so definitely best to avoid the slot canyons during those months, which typically fall June - August. A great time to see Antelope Canyon (and the Grand Canyon) would be April-May, before summer hits, IMO.
