Thank you for your comments. Sorry to hear of your loss. 91 years young is a good age. I know that when we lose someone no matter how many years pass sometimes it can still feel like yesterday. I suspect that when you start knitting again you’re going to have a lot of good memories to enjoy.

ThankYou..for this great tutorial! . I was currently looking for a cap pattern that is this lovely…that is consistent and that I don’t have to constantly follow a pattern!( I knit caps year-round for our local cancer foundation;). Best of wishes on a quick recovery a good winter.

You're most welcome! I hope that you find the hat pattern useful for all your knitting! I also knit hats for homeless. I keep some in a box in my car during winter and when I see a homeless person (they are usually cold) I go into my box and give them a hat, or mittens or a scarf. I like knitting and do it every day so this gives me a good outlet. I've also knit hats for newborns, knit and donated to our local hospital.

i love Prym needles!

Me too, love Prym needles. I just purchased a 4mm 16” steel Prym through Amazon. I needed that size. I was a little concerned about buying a steel needle since most of my Prym are the Ergonomic needles, but this 16” 4mm Prym is great. Just like all their other products. Cheers!

I’m glad you found it helpful. For years off and on I would knit scarfs and hats. Finally, in my senior years I decided to expand my skill and learn new things. As I learn new ideas and techniques, tackle new projects I’m sharing what I learn. New skills are great, like lace knitting and so on, but the basics of knit, purl, increase and decrease still play a large part in what we create. Happy Knitting.

@ That's what I'm starting with-hats. I've always liked the look of knitted beanies. I have wanted to learn for a long time, but always found it intimidating. I crocheted for many years and transitioning was an adjustment but now I love knitting. It wasn't that hard after all! I would like to be able to knit socks too!

@ ah, socks are amazing. I’ve knit a few in my days. If you take on that challenge, you should let me know. I’d love to hear what you find works for you.

@ I will. It will have to be after the holidays, plus I’m still waiting on an order for sock yarn that I purchased during the Black Friday sales.

Hi can you please,tell me,which brand of knitting needles you used on the 1st December I'm from the UK and never saw ones like that thanks x

My favourite knitting needles are the Ergonomics by Prym. I purchase them through Amazon (not always the cheapest way to get them) and I purchase them at our local craft store called Michaels.

What size needles are you using? 5 and 7? Is that mm or us sizes. Why is the dec section on bigger needles? I love your hat and I want to try to make one!
@Yarntalesandthreads11 күн бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your comments. Sorry I’m just getting around to responding now. I use US6 & US 7 needles and worsted weight wool. You asked why my decreasing section is on bigger needles. I am just in the habit of using US #7. Whatever needle size you use for the body of the work, you continue your decreasing in that same size needle. I will be posting more hats. My husband purchased a hat kit for me for Christmas. It’s called a “Roots” hat and Roots is a Canadian name in great products like clothing, handbags, wallets etc, and knitted wool hats. Thanks for your message. Hope you’re enjoying the holidays.
