The follow him podcast keeps getting better every week, but this podcast with Dr. Craig Manning was over the top for me. I think it’s the best one I’ve ever listened to, and please pass on my admiration and appreciation to him for his comments and his amazing philosophy of life. Just full of Wisdom & Truth !

I agree- I’m a longtime listener, and feel like this episode goes beyond the seminary teaching to youth to useable content for adults. We don’t need to know what to do, we need to under ourselves, our thinking , our motivations - everything that affects our behavior as so much of that is run on automatic. As a multi- decade coach all I could say was YES!! Last night my husband came in so excited saying I had to listen to this podcast!! Even though he has heard and seen me use these truths for performance, Dr. Manning really spoke to him. Adults need this kind of relating the scriptures, the doctrines, the principles in our minds. Great content, great perspectives, great truths! Thank you. Have him in again!!!

SO much meaty content! Thank you 3 brothers for teaching & sharing. My favorite take away from this broadcast, among such others, is to pray with "specificity"! When we don't take the time with our prayers to ask specifically and then listen carefully for answers, we miss great opportunities for personal revelation that the Savior has ready to give us. I love "Follow Him" & all that I have & am learning!

I have been praying specifically and searching for years to find someone in the world of sports who understands truth in this way and how it effects who we can become, for my son. He has been blessed with the capacity to become an elite athlete and a leader in all things. He recognizes the gift he has been given, but something is holding him back. The pain of life is deep for him and seeing him struggle to face each day leaves me feeling alone and helpless. Thank you for being who you are. You speak what I have learned through the spirit and I know you know. I realize having him meet with you probably is unrealistic, so I will pray to know how to influence him to read your book and listen to this podcast.

I can’t thank Craig enough for his words and insight today. After listening to this episode again, I felt compelled to comment. Understanding the difference between assertiveness and aggression will be life-changing for me. The truths he shared reminded me of a quote from Jordan Peterson: “If you say no, early in the cycle of oppression, and you mean what you say (which means you state your refusal in no uncertain terms and stand behind it), then the scope for oppression on the part of the oppressor will remain properly bounded and limited. The forces of tyranny expand inexorably to fill the space made available for their existence.” As someone who needed to learn that humility doesn’t equate to passiveness, this lesson was essential. It’s fascinating and thrilling how clearly the Spirit of the Lord can convey truth to our hearts and minds. Thank you, Hank, John, and Craig, from the bottom of my heart.

I decided to comment because you encouraged us to and that Dr. Manning would get the message. I wanted to express my gratitude for him and his effort to convey some powerful connections. Recently, I have taken classes about mindfulness and I've been seeking Ted talks on human behavior and listening to books to learn about happiness and success in relationships. I want him to know that I heard him, and each time he offered the truth I was listening. I will go forward with more of the game changing truth that I need to exercise faith. Thank you!

Thank you for this episode like all of your episodes it was so good, but this one was particularly timely for me. Dr. Manning will be happy to know I used what I learned from him this week as I coached the middle school tennis team in our area. My varsity singles player was getting down on himself because he kept hitting it into the net, although he was up in the score he was losing ground fast. I went to talk to him and could see tears welling up in his eyes. I asked him what was going on and he said, “it’s going terrible. I just can’t hit the ball.” I then remembered Dr. Manning’s words about living in truth. What I said, surprised both of us. I said, “that’s just not true. It’s not going terrible. You are currently winning. And that’s not true that you can’t hit the ball. You are hitting it, you are just hitting it into the net. So let’s focus on what is really going on. Why are you hitting it into the net?” He thought and then determined he needed to change where and when he hit the ball. I said, “great! So start working on that and let’s see what happens.” The tears dried up and I could see a new determination on his face. It was wonderful. He recalibrated, stopped hitting it into the net and ended up winning the match. I was happy for him that he won, but I what really made me happy was that he listened to the truth and believed it. Thanks for helping an up and coming young tennis player and an up and coming coach.
