I hear ya. My Z50 gets put in my bag far more often than my Z6ii.

Right?! I love my Z6ii. However, the Z50 is my go-to for day to day stuff when I'm not trying to get a "pro" result (although you can get pro results from the z50). Even the kit 16-50 lens is pretty decent to shoot with.

4:20 that is a good example. On the second the background is really distracting. I like blur that is enough to make it less distracting but not so great that one cannot tell anything about the background.

When have a Nikon Z body why not just use the Nikon Z S lenses instead of those Sigmas? For video is the AF of those Sigma lenses more quiet than the Nikon Z S lenses? Are those Sigma lenses weather sealed?

They have SOME weather sealing from what I can tell. Really it's all about the size and 1.4 aperture... AND the price as they are less than the nikon z primes.

Thanks David! I edit in Davinci Resolve 18. It's free! Also, they just came out with an app for iPad PRO that has a lot of the same functionality as the PC/Mac version.

I like shooting manual lenses and wish the z50 had ibis. I sold my z50 before the last AF update. I do miss that camera there is something special about that sensor. Looking to either buy another z50 or z5. Might wait and see what that new announcement is at the end of the month. I mainly do street photography. That new 26mm for z mount looks interesting too

BTW there is also the viltrox trio 23, 33, 56mm f1.4 and the now famous 13mm f1.4. Soon to release 75mm f1.2.

@@ZacharyEldridge Same here not used yet. But maybe buy the latest versions as the first versions are less reliable. E.g. the 13mm f1.4 and the upcoming 75mm f1.2 should are more reliable.

Is the optical quality and autofocus comparable to the Sony lenses?

I can only compare it to the kit 16-50. As far as that goes I'd say it's quite a bit sharper and the focus is fast and quiet!

Sounds like a good fit. I use the Sigma 16mm for my APS-C Sony A6400. It's my go to lens for video. As a Z6 user for photos, I would like to get an APS-C Nikon for my lightweight gimbal setup, but so far the Nikon APS-C have either record time limits or overheating issues.

I've used the Z50 for several years now and haven't ever run into an overheating issue! It does have the recording limit but for my use that's never an issue. I understand some need longer than 30 min though. I was also thinking.... this would be a decent video lens for a Z6/Z6ii as well. The camera will just crop down to DX mode, but the output is still 1080p or 4k depending on your settings.
