The three ninjas are driven around "Tokyo" while Nan Arayo, a legendary KOREAN pop song by Seo Taiji & Boys, plays in the background. slow clap

the reason why kpop song is in this movie is because the writer and one of the producers was korean american this is one of the early asian american driven movies, producer was chinese american, 1 was japanese american, some korean american. most of the producers and execs were asian american one of the few movies even till today in hollywood that asians really drove

So many comments about the song let me tell my story. I'm the quintessential 90s kid. Even though I don't actually know the words to this song I've known this song so well since I was a kid from this scene. Flash forward to now, I randomly got really into kpop about 8 years ago. Haven't watched this movie in probably that long (i watch the first movie more frequently). Rewatched this recently got hyped for this scene because of the song realized the lyrics are actually korean (all the 요s make it obvious). Was like whoa this is actually korean so I google the soundtrack see its Seo Taiji I'm like whoa I've heard all about them just from learning the history of kpop. Turns out this is like basically the first kpop song and I've actually loved it my whole life thru this scene even though I only got into kpop the last 8 years or so. Crazy how it comes full circle like that. I naturally always assumed this song was Japanese growing up

Seo taiji and the boys lol i never knew until i started listening to kpop almost all the songs in this movie are kpops famous songs in the 90’s they were really popular that they were famous in japan thats why the music was used in the movie because it was kpops rise.. Edit: also from what i read one of the producers was korean so they put the most popular songs that were on that time.. and there has been remakes of all these songs in someway by other kpop artists

First off, I remember hearing this song for the first time when my uncle brought stuff from Korea when he came to visit my family. Also, it might help to know that Simon Sheen (aka Shin Sang-Ok) was the writer and producer of this movie, which would explain all the Korean music, signs, etc. throughout...

This Korean song was like the most popular song in korea when it came out. Seotaegi and boys. He is like the Michael Jackson of Korea at the time. I was thrown off when I heard this song while they were in Japan. I guess the producers didn't know the difference at the time.
