I'd for sure have to hear it but it sounds like prioritizing who gets the hi end and would be helpful so those harsh frequencies are staking up on top of each other. But it's difficult to know with out hearing it.

Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. This is great content, love the way you explain your process as beyond technical but creative as well. @@TheSwollenOne Forgive me if you've tackled this already, I'm still going through your channel videos. Would love for your thoughts on how to first approach the mix (what are you listening to/looking for when you get the stems/creative mindset towards the mix). And! Would really appreciate a video on how to carefully go through your own revisions. What do you check when you bounce out the audio to test it in environments? I have some songs on version 21 and there has got to be a more effective way to listen and revise your changes. Thanks for everything thus far!

You wouldn’t need a multiband comp if you gain stage the vocals on a boutique level approach. Yea it’s more work but it sounds more natural and unprocessed.

What do you mean by boutique level approach?
@goseason23432 ай бұрын
@ perhaps a better word would be bespoke gain staging.
@TheSwollenOne2 ай бұрын
I feel like you're making a riddle out of a simple term. If you're referring to volume balancing then I agree to a certain extent. I do use volume to get started, then I use other tools if needed. As I'm sure you know every situation is different and there are times where I don't use multiband compression at all or compression at all.
@goseason23432 ай бұрын
@ tithe point of gain staging the S’s instead of a desser as well as staging parts to balance the vocals as a whole cause if that’s balanced a simple channel strip would be all you’d need for a vocal channel
