I think it looks cleaner...but everything is bigger now which makes seeing everything I need to see more difficult. Like not as much fits on the screen. I started zooming my browser out a little...but then have to change it back for matrix mode because it glitches. I'm really trying tho...I don't wanna be that old guy stuck in my ways! haha

Jimmy!!! Thank you so much for linking the hacks video! I have always sent YT playlists to my team and most of the time the songs aren't in the right key. I'm in the process of adding mp3s for each of our songs now. That hack is YUGE!!!

Well I about fell off the couch lol. Yes Jeremy is my name. Great video and definitely gave me better direction while using planning center. Thanks Jimmy

Haha! That's so funny. The reason that name came to me in the moment is because I was just telling my kids how my Dad had a bird named Jeremy when he was younger and it flew away. I guess it was just on my mind...and I guess you were too! haha

Will have to use the YT hacks & notes now. Pre-C19, I was trying to consolidate everyone into PCO, & I think now is the time to do it! Once we go exclusive on PCO, the next step is paperless!

Yes! I think that is a great move!

We use Item Description to put who's leading the element because, for us at least, that informs the person of what they're doing, audio knows which mic, camera knows who to focus on, and band knows who to look to (if it's not a song-like waiting for a pastor to come up and say something, etc.) here's our other note sections and what they get: Band: BPM and any specific notes that differ from the normal version like "big trashcan end into next song" Arrangement: for band and lyrics operator A/V: any special notes for video or audio operators (cue video on last note of song, etc) Lights: which light preset to hit

I love PlanningCenter and I put so much time into it, but our volunteers will not take the time to look at it. It's super frustrating and I keep telling people that all the info is on there. Yet they still somehow complain about not having the time during rehearsal to get the sequence down or didn't know they were leading, etc. They would have so much less stress if they would just use the app! How would you get these people to actually use the resources I take the time to put together for them?
@HeyWorshipLeader3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that is frustrating man. I know your pain. There is no quick answer...it's more like changing the culture and that's not always easily done. It could be as easy as having a round table type discussion where you share your heart and the hard work you put in because you value their time. That may change their perspective and appreciate what you do. I also tell people up front that if they don't have time to be prepared, they just need to decline the PCO invite. This communities that I'd rather have them come prepared than come and bring the team down. If NO ONE on my team is ready for this...I'd play acoustic by myself until I retrained all of them. Easier said than done...but I wouldn't waste my time being that organized if they are not going to take it that seriously. I can think of a lot more things...but I hope this helps and you can begin to make progress with your team.

@@HeyWorshipLeader That makes a lot of sense. I have a lot of experience starting worship teams, but I moved a year ago and just recently received the role of worship leader in a culture that is very unorganized. That's a great word on being upfront with the team and changing the culture. There are many times that I would just rather lead alone on acoustic when people aren't prepared. Is it bad to just tell the team that we're not prepared and I'll be doing it alone? I want to make sure my ego is in check as well as my team not seeing it as an ego thing.

@HeyWorshipLeader I’m used to it. It’s slower and you can’t see as much as you used to. It’s a downgrade.
