This was really easy to make. Thank you so much. If you have spare money, throwing some bacon bits or mince in the middle really tops it off. But without the meat it's still incredibly tasty and cheap 😋

Pretty quick but the prep takes a while. I grated my own cheese. Precook the potatoes. I left mine thinly sliced and raw. After 15 minutes they turned brown but were still raw inside. I would boil and microwave them intil almost done, then slice them.

Thank you for this recipe. When I cook, I normally cook for just 2 or 3 people. Most cheesy potato recipes look like it's for 10 or more people. This recipe is much more practical for our home.

This looks PERFECT....With my Pork ElPastor in the oven (& my Creamed-Spinach/Broccoli done) I need a "stove-top" Potato dish that still tastes like Potatoes. I will add an edit after dinner... WTH!!!! This "Galette de Pomes de Terre" just blew me away! Since my side-dish contains hot-sauce & Blue Cheese, I needed something that could compete....and this dish delivered is SPADES. I did Dbl. the cheese, using sharp W/Cheddar, but that was all! For Anyone who owns a mandolin, a cheese grader & "good" non-stick pan...Go and impress @ breakfast - lunch - and/or dinner........

At what temp on the stove was this cooked? I sliced my potatoes thin with a mandolin. Assembled and cooked 5 min, flipped and cooked the next 5 min.....potatoes in the center were still a bit raw. But the pan in the oven to finish.

Cook on lower flame for n longer or don't use butter. Butter burns fast. You can add olive oil to the butter it keeps it from burning. Chef trick. Or just use a coating of vegetable oil.
