Thank you for making all these videos. I have been on a high-calorie feed quest for my 31yr. old Peruvian mare. It's been a trial and error quest with Senior feed mashes, all the different brands, new feeds and supplements coming out all the time, I must spend hours reading labels and comparing feeds and products and deciding their uses, lol. I think it would help, especially for mares and foals and Senior horses, if the feed companies could decide what age and type of horse they designed specific feeds for! Purina Senior is so, low in fat and dense calories it only barely rivals Bomgaars brand horse feed her in the mid-west...but the price comparison between the two is ridiculous! the biggest difference is Bomgaars brand Senior horse= 4.5% crud fat costs $12⁹⁹ for 50Lbs. and Purina Senior horse= 5.5% crude fat! costs $28³⁴ for 50Lbs. I don't feed either brand to my Senior horse because it's not worth the money! I feed a mix of Triple Crown Senior and Neutrena Senior plus an Alfalfa, oat and cracked corn Sweet fed forage mash mix ... and Pay less because it doesn't take two or three scoops a feeding.
