Thanks for this video! I'm not an expert on RF at all, but love it and I'm curious: why are these small squares in two rows near the output of the switch? An why the is a single strip of these squares near the left input but not on the right? I guess them are to adapt impedances, but I've not found yet a book that explains it.

I am wondering why you are trying to clean up the pads with dry wick. A god dollop of liquid flux and the whole process takes seconds. You need liquid flux to get wick to work at all. It got quite painful to watch.

I’m sorry for the pain that this video you voluntarily watched has caused you. I agree that using additional liquid flux would be a good way to quickly clean and prepare the area. I’ll try that sometime. However, solder wick is impregnated with rosin-based flux, so saying that you “need to add flux for it to work at all” is not accurate.
