I have some old books from 1800s early 1900s and the prints,, are so find and detailed, and on special paper, unlike the rest of the pages where it is just letters. It's like they took extra care to make these amazing prints.

Tip #5: If there is a high availability of decent (1st ed with DJ!) copies of a very, very popular book, available at a good price, buy & store them! ;)
@wendygoerl91622 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's why I sold my first-edition of Stephen King's Rose Madder for $0.99. I'll be dead and gone before enough of the hundreds of thousands of them are reduced to a number where the survivors are worth the storage space.

What about tour books from other countries from the 60s, 70s? Are they worth anything?
@debbiew.77162 ай бұрын
If you can find a market for them, they would be. For something to be valuable, their has to be people willing to pay for them:)

For the experts: I have a book where the cover is upside down compared to the text. Any extra value? (Not a first edition but it is a well known book) Also, I have a collection of the same book but I’m working on gathering each printing. ie: 1939 first printing, 1939 second printing….1947 May, 1947 October….etc. does that create any value as a whole collection?
@sarahwaters82623 жыл бұрын
1) Depends on the book 2) Probably not, but maybe for the right buyer. They would be more likely to just collect it on their own if that were something someone wanted.

It was difficult to tell what he was saying, the music was too loud.

The background music was annoying. Hard to understand the speaker.

You want a first edition BUT YOU REALLY want the “first printing of the first edition”!!! A first edition can have dozens of printings. It’s really the “first printing” that has greatest value.
@wendygoerl91622 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I really wish he'd added another minute to discuss printings within editions.

Really, what you want, is the FIRST PAGES, that came off the printing press... there are dozens of first printings, but it's really the FIRST PAGES that have the greatest value.

Whoever edited this, made the music much too loud. It covers up what Ken Sanders is saying. Background music is supposed to be kept in the background. I am a musician who has produced 8 albums, so I have some experience in this area.

I think the problem is the clarinet's a lot louder than the guitar and drums. If you quiet the clarinet, you lose the guitar and snares. And these snippets are just bonuses; they're not going to get the editing TLC of the main show.

It IS pretty basic information for anyone who's got more than 100 books.
