On Moto Control channel you will find videos about motorcycles, motorcycle riding techniques, tips & tricks and online motorcycle training for beginner and advanced riders!
A little info about me. My name is Andrei Bodrov, originally I'm from Moscow, Russia, and now I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back in Moscow I was a motorcycle instructor and creator of Moto Control Beginner & Advanced motorcycle rider courses, which quickly became the most popular courses in Moscow (well, at least the advanced one😁). My advanced training course makes emphasis on slow speed riding techniques at first (such as good clutch and throttle control, proper riding posture, proper use of vision, etc.), then proceeds to more advanced techniques (such as aggressive braking, trail braking, maximal lean angle). The course incorporates a lot of exercises from DOSAF slow speed riding (similar to police rodeo like motorcycle training in USA), braking and cornering exercises and motogymkhana style riding. And now, since I actively learn English - I decided to post some useful videos for both your and mine practice!😉
🏍️🏍️🏍️
Since everyone writes this, it's necessary, I suppose 🤷, so here we go. Disclaimer: Ride at your own risk, you are responsible for your own safety. Me, Andrey Bodrov and my channel, Moto Control disclaim any liability incurred in connection with the use of riding techniques from this channel. Use common sense, wear full protective gear and ride in a safe and predictable manner!

Good video with clear instructions. Your English is better and more easily understood than most inner-city people or people living rural mountain communities.

Hi Andrey. Great video as usual and perfect for me as I'm learning to ride a 2011 Yamaha XVS650 Cruiser. What type of bike are you riding in this video? And, would you say clutch control on full lock turns is as important on my bike compared to yours?? Glad you're back on KZbin. 🙂

Hi! In the video it's Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic. And clutch control the s always important, on any bike. I haven't rode XVS650, but I tried XVS1100. It seems that it's engine likes to rev a little bit more than usual, it doesn't pull on low RPM. Maybe 650 has the same character. Or maybe not :)

Has lean angle of a bike any impact on those tips? I have cruiser with only 24 degree lean angle and very often scraping pads when cornering that makes my turns wider than I wish even at low speed. Does it mean I have to go even slower than that or can I use any other trick for “non scraping” turns? Thank you!
@233kosta
@233kosta Жыл бұрын
If you're going fast enough, you can move your upper body to the inside of the turn, that buys you a few °, but at low speeds it might also create its own problems.

I think I only ever use counterbalancing when I need the bike to tip more quickly. The slalom part of a gymkhana course comes to mind. It effectively trades turn radius (for the same lean angle) for agility.

I have 32° rake on a low rider with buckhorn handlebars and a lumpy cam with carb. Plan ahead. Turning in a narrow lane on a slope with a heavy inexperienced pillion either takes practice or just don't do it.

Good tips. But, about 30% of the turns you can hear he’s leaning too far and bike is scraping the ground. Not something you want to be doing.

Where im from, cone distance for straight line slalom cone weave is set according to the distance from the rear tire to the front tire. Any tips for those tight cone weaves? I often knock down cones with the rear of the bike.
@MotoControlEn
@MotoControlEn 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's very common problem. You need to do 2 things: make a wider swings (tip your bike more) and try to dip the bike closer to the next cone (in other words don't hurry to dip the bike, give it a little time to clear the cone). Hope it helps 🙂
