Said it on the reddit post, but #1 actually could arguably be solved with exploration rules! The Search exploration activity lets them slow down in the rooms to Seek for hidden objects, and seek itself when clicked on in foundry will have a button for those secret checks. That way, if they want to seek, they simply set it as their exploration activity.
