Remember, this is common & normal for loose curls & waves to fall throughout the week. However if you're looking to get longer-lasting results, gives these techniques a try. #1 Too much moisture ❌ Leaving too much water in your hair when applying products ✅ Try towel-drying your roots and then spritzing the lengths with some water. It should be evenly wet and not stringy, but not dripping. ❌ Too much curl cream or leave-in ✅ Use just enough for your hair's density and porosity ❌ Too heavy products such as those with oils and butters ✅ Use lightweight formulas that contain more water ❌ #2 Not using a strong hold gel or mousse. If your hair falls or frizzes up immediately after scrunching out the cast, then its not strong hold. ✅ Use strong hold gels. Looks for gels with multiple "polyquaternium" and/or "polymer" ingredients This is the most important. ❌ #3 Not protecting your curls at night ✅ Sleep on a silk pillowcase and with a bonnet, scarf, or scrunchie With these techniques, my curls will last 2 days without refreshing and about 4 days with some touchups. How wet is Damp? If i microplop, most of my product comes off. It is lower porosity and fine and low density. With thick products, like Shine, I use water and emulsify, but it is still ard to spread (and polyquat-69 makes my curls straight if I rake or brush...)

It’s hard to explain and takes some practice to get the right amount of water. I towel dry my hair after I rinse out my conditioner by loosely wrapping it in my hair towel. This blots the roots dry. I then spritz the lengths with water so that they’re evenly wet but no dripping or soaked

But if I don’t style soaking wet it gets wet frizz and that sets into dry frizz aahhhh

Are you using a strong hold gel? Also my hair is not damp as in it’s stringy or frizzy. It’s wet but not soaked or dripping. My scalp and roots are towel-dried. It takes time to find the right amount of wetness

@@GenaMarie how do you towel dry just the roots without messing up the length?

Make your own gel with flaxseeds

There are hard hold gels that are light, they are more liquidy and not thick.

Flaxseed gel, if I make that is that strong hold? Was going to try ig but won’t if it’s not going to be strong
@GenaMarie Жыл бұрын
I dont think flaxseed is strong enough, personally. gels that contain "polyquaternium" are the best for hold in my opinion. even better if they have multiple polyquats

Why is it bad for curls to fall? Tbh I like the variety but I feel like the curl community thinks it’s bad. If I don’t use a gel mg hair is still healthy right?
@GenaMarie Жыл бұрын
I'm not saying it's bad! In the description/caption of this post, I stated: "Remember, this is common & normal for loose curls & waves to fall throughout the week. However if you're looking to get longer-lasting results, gives these techniques a try." I get this question a ton from viewers who are looking for ways to keep their curls longer. However I agree that the variety in texture is what makes curs so unique. ❤️

And yes, there is nothing wrong with not using a gel if you're happy with how your curls look! Gel is for people who want more definition, longer-lasting curls, and struggle with frizz.
