3 Reasons Why Guardian Slime is the SECRET to Beating Meta Decks

Very smart deckbuilding. I had not remembered the spell's effect to stop attacks. The recursion from the slime is great, I used to use this mini engine of the sky god spell, sphere mode and slime in my go-second ice jade deck too. You have convinced me to build and theorycraft with that deck again. Icejades have nice natural GY recursion and lots of in-built removal (Gymir, Kingfisher) for going second. It works even better with the ice barrier trap, which on its own is pretty effective versus Tenpai since it's a battle trap negate and it's second effect to search any level 5 or higher water monster is live the moment it goes to the GY, allowing you to grab slime on their battle phase. Going second the trap might not do much, unless you run cards that can pitch it to the GY like adventure or super poly.

Wow I thought I was cooking - you are preparing a whole BANQUET! I love the idea of Ice Barrier trap in fact I was looking at that as an option but I thought that might be too niche since it would lock me into water but yes if your playing Ice jades then there is unbelievable synergy! My favorite part of all of this is when your locked into special summoning water only... but Sphere Mode is considered a normal summon ;)

On the topic of Water Techs too "Stealth Kragen" changes all of the Opponents to Water - and is not an activated effect so the field spell will not protect them. And now since tenpai are Water Dragons they are not protected by their field spell and you can mess with them as you please. Stealth Kragen has a pop too if needed!

But the water lock does limit deck options including the dogmatika or adventure engine since the token/gryphon aren't water. Icejades can also play around the normal summon limitation thanks to the Icejade Manifestation spell (since you give the opponent a monster but you need to control a water as well) or with Tremora. I'll need to think of some alternative techs to work with the deck though. Nice shout on the Kragen, that used to be an endboard piece of my Ghoti deck when I had spare level 4's on the field to Xyz with. I might need to throw him back in the extra deck, since that interaction you mentioned is super worth it especially as Ghoti insta-lose to the Tenpai field spell. Currently, after making Arionpos I climb with any two spare water monsters to make coral anemone and then revive a water to go into Mermail Neptabyss which gives targetting protection to water monsters on three link arrows, perfect places to summon Paces, Shif and Keaf on next standby. Great vs decks that aren't Tenpai, lol.

As somebody who has read nearly every card in the game at least once... I always find it funny how many players don't read even after something is hurting them on the field, and typically are unaware of most cards in the game besides meta deck cards. For me building my own decks is half the fun of this game, with winning barely even mattering to me. Also while I have built 100s of decks... but my pet project for years has been building different versions of Chaos MAX decks, soon I plan on testing to see if I can combine Chaos MAX with the White Forest cards.

@Jesse Perez So, I like Assault Synchron with Guardian Slime. It summons itself, makes you take damage to summon Slime. Synchro off for Centurion Legatia for pop (can pop Sphere mode on their field) and draw a card. Or if going first you can Centurion Auxila to protect backrow and get Phalanx for an extra interruption. All the while the synchro summon sends Slime to grave for its search effect. Then Assault Synchron in grave can revive Auxila back if it gets tributed or Banished

Play this in Ursartic. You have tribute material in hand that replenishes as you continuously search and summon. The attack lock keeps your opponent from hitting your synchros and the synchros lock down the opponents extra deck. You can run the sphere mode regularly for going second, and if drawn you can just tribute it.

Wonder if this might catch on in the TCG, this doesnt require a lot of summons under Fuwaross and decks like Tenpai are pretty well positioned in a Fuwaross meta since they want to go second anyways.

Whoa this has a name!? I need to look up how they were playing their variants they might already be way ahead of me becuase yeah my version is a 6-7 card micro package. I personally run 3-3-1 but you could also run 2 slime, 3 true sun, and 1 sphere and currently running it in small piles with adventure and diableelstar engines but looking to try a bunch of different variants also. I'll have to see if i find how they were playing them in OCG and see if anything pops out at me there also.

I don't really see what you could pull into a more generic deck, other than Tokusano Shinkyojin, the spell that requires you to pitch 10 levels to draw 2.

At 21:40 the reason he could kill you with his second Linkage as because you need to don't have monster in your main monster zone, and since he took control of you guardian slime and did not meet the requirement to activate his card. That's why a chain his Linkage after activating the Widow Anchor cause if he didn't do it at this timing he could never have done it after the resolution of Widow Anchor.

Ice barrier is a current pet deck of mine. One of its major flaws is that you need cards (specifically waters most of the time) to discard for revealer, swap frog and ran aegirine. And if you don't have exactly a dead water or mirror mage in your hand, it hurts so much having to pitch a valuable extender just to continue playing. Guardian slime fixes that exact issue as it equates to 2 free waters to discard if you open guardian. On top of that, ice barrier can casually revive it off the back of coral anemone to make Egyptian God Slime for its protection effects. And The True Sun God's attack prevention effect can protect your floodgate monsters from being run over by battle.

Horrible synergy with numeron. As monsters cannot attack the turn they are special summoned if you use the continuous spell and that takes away the OTK line numeron wants to do. Also RA sphere mode cannot be targeted or attacked so that is also a block to numeron as well. However, it works MUCH BETTER with fusion destiny as I am guessing your making dragoon or DPE which both are control oriented cards which works well with the slime engine cards and the playstyle.

Often times it sounds good on paper but there is a small interaction that surprises us that is unexpected that could be favorable or unfavorable to our strategy that was unintended.

Its funny that as going second enjoyers we don’t want to play Tenpai (the best going second deck in history) 😂😂😂 I find the best part of going second is navigating your opponent’s board and enjoying the sport of a good back and forth. Tenpai as a deck is the anti-thesis of that; it is all about playing cards that shut down interaction through floodgate like effects and executing mindless one card OTK combos. Very boring in my opinion. Also thanks so much for the video! I have been sitting on a full Adventure engine for a while and have been looking for a deck which suits my play style to utilize it in so maybe I will be crafting a few True Sun Gods myself 🤔

I basically just play blind 2nd. When Tenpai was first announced I thought it might be cool. I dabble in mahjong. Then I realized what the deck was. Turn off all interaction and kill the opponent. At least I need to bait stuff. And its meta which means people are going to be playing anti-blind 2nd techs.

Its early OCG darling Baronne might be gone over here, but it still has Heat Wave, Shifter, Spheres shenanigans such as the Assault Dragon combo and Koa'ki Meiru Drago, Ancient Fairy Dragon shenanigans such as the Assault Dragon combo and Secret Village lock (attack over Nirvana High Paladin or you can't use Spells), and Tenpai Mystic Mine, err, Summon Breaker, speaking of underappreciated and overlooked floodgates in the vein of The True Sun God.

21:48 The reason the Sky Striker player ends the Battle Phase is because you're only able to activate Sky Striker spells (except field and continuous) when you don't have a monster in the Main Monster Zone. Taking control of Guardian Slime is still probably his best option.

I'm having fun with zombie Horus, the zombie world field spell turns tenpai into zombies so their feildspell doesn't protect them. there's a new tcg zombie card that came out in rage of the abyss that I wish was a in master duel called flying marry the wondering ghost ship that may make it good with some snake eyes because snake-eyes doesn't care about them being zombies as long as they're fire..

I used to play slime from a few months before, i knew it was busted as a defense / Board break engine I usually rub a smaller engine 1 slime 2 true sun 1 sphere mode Although it’s tempting to run slime & true at 3 for limitless resources 🤣🔥 By the way, though about adding mikanko cards? Since they work well with sphere/ nadir You can mill herald, add mikanko searcher, use him to add either equip to summon from deck, or add other ritual to return monster to hand every end phase, you can return your sphere mode, or enemy monsters every single turn 🔥 Also you can discard her every turn as a cost for anything

Climbing in ladder it's about a 55 to 65% ratio it's positive. I would say The win ratio vs tenpai is 85%+ which is contributing to the climb. I also have integrated the horus engine into this making a dingirsu if I am forced to go 1st after losing cointoss and can make truesungod plus dingirsu is gg vs tenpai.

I got a way you can gurentee these cards it all involves valmononica. The reason i recomend because guardian slime works perfectly with it. For 2 reason 1 you can special summon it with the cost effect of any valmonicca spell card or can even be discarded with the pendulum monster plus you can summon up to at least 4 lvl 4 monstor without even normal summing once. Ill add toy box combo with magician souls just so you can get a extra body on board and draw 2 card as well

The final effect of True Sun God isn't a D if you are playing a Ra deck, it's actually and S+ effect and I'll tell you why. This card lets you send an IMMORTAL PHOENIX from your deck to the GY and then immediately after send a Ra you control to the GY thus activating Immortal Phoenix's effect to summon himself, which I remind you cards and effects CANNOT be activated in response to Phoenix summoning himself. Now you can easily get Phoenix on the field during your turn, he is a 4000 attack monster totally immune to card effects who can also spend 1k LPs to "send" any monster to the GY (this IS NOT ONCE PER TURN BY THE WAY), this means his effect outs anything your opponent has other than "uneffected" and even if they are uneffected Phoenix is 4000 attack! he can easily swing over almost any monster immune to card effects. Finally Phoenix will give you a sphere mode after the turn ends which cannot be targeted for attacks or effects and because Phoenix is immune to card effects him summoning sphere mode CANNOT be negated. Also you underestimate a Ra deck, it's not a meme deck I'm master 1 with a Ra deck and it absolutely crushes the meta, the downside is it brinks more than meta but make no mistake it's not a weak deck it just doesn't rely on negates and interrupts to win.

After trying out this deck for 50+ games, I feel like it's biggest weakness is the lack of otk potential. Alot of the times my opponent would have an empty field, and all I have is an adventure token and a diabellstar on the field. Feels like it's missing something idk. It also loses the grind game to centur ion, runick, and labrynth. Also playing against tear going 2nd sucks because if they mill your 1 copy of sphere mode or gryphon rider via zombie vampire , your grind and board breaking potential gets a lot worse

I would try this out in a lab deck, lab súper poly go second could definitely use this engine. I don't think lab really needs that much help against tenpai but this could really frick some people over. Against tenpai in general you should also give Rikka piles a try. Cactus bouncer and rose whip go insanely hard against tenpai and plant piles have plenty of ways to defend against destruction and battle only real out for tenpai is droplet, but they would have to draw it and it still isn't free by any means.

I have the most halirous replay where the opponet tried to do hist that. I have now started using Horus adventure and diableelstar engine and was able to makes Dingirsu + 1 omninegate with disbbellestar. (I would have had 2 omnis but I had to use my adventure Omni to stop a nib. ) anyways the person proceeds to make blackrose because they DID read truesungod but didn't read dingirsu and exploded his whole board. Basically if enemy makes you go first dongirsu + truesun solos tenpai. Come join the discord to see the updated list but horus,diabellestar, adventure, slime engine fits PERFECTLY in 40 card deck and can create 2/3 omnis going 1st and great BBreaking power going 2nd.

As someone that is a self proclaimed "innovator" player that also grinds like he is in the club too, im pretty sure that "The True Son God" is a continuous effect and not a lingering effect. So its not that good vs Tenpai since they play breakers. Obviously u can protect it with cards like Auxila and Flametongue. The thing is that Tenpai also plays droplet so any Storm card plus Droplet does the trick. Better draw the out I guess. Unfortunately, in this soft gambling and self proclaimed "card game" you have to use the BiS card and be lucky enough to draw it. From my small research Battle Fader seams to be that card. You can try cards like waboku and smoke mosquito if you think they are better for your deck. I didnt calculated it but the Tenpai player should have had the out (or at least go for another turn after nib) with Kuibelt + Trident, but as a typical meta-slave, you wont find that in a KZbin combo demo. I have used guardian slime before as tech or extender in synchro decks. I have seen it utilized best along with Egyptian God Slime in IceJade decks tho, but im not familiar with the archetype besides the basics to play against it.

Ahh that's what it was lol I took it out my deck through my testings either way I should have just special summoned her or saved her for next turn but I think i was under maxx C and time constraints in that grind game - Which also def played a factor in the misplays on both sides. I took that dogmatika engine out becuase of the small conflict of interest but this is another good reason why I'm happy I took dogmatika out - although Nadir Servant is one of my favorite cards. Great comment and attention to detail!

Sadly the true sun god and the slime don't do anything if the Tempai opponent knows how to read or how his own deck works. Could you do a video on the Wonky Quartet? It's a generic rank 4 that is unaffected by everything and can board wipe the opponent or turn into a free 6 material Zeus (or explode in your face but you can give us the math to reduce the odds of that happening 😉)

I figure the idea is just that you can bait interactions from the Tenpai player if they choose to disrupt it with Ash or something. Because this is such a small package, it doesnt really clog up your hand too much. This package is 5 cards max in the main deck in a more optimized list. You'd only run 3 of the spell card, everything else is a 1 of.

I was looking at that card myself but how is that a 6 material Zeus? Assuming you somehow protected it from battle destruction, so its alive on your SP, its effect will trigger and now it will have 5 mats and will destroy itself. Am i missing something? If i comprehend the effect correctly, you have to: - Protect it from battle destruction - Remove one material so it has 4 in your SP

@@AceL. My bad, I thought that you had to attach at least one monster to activate the effect that gives it to the opponent but it always happens because it says 4 or less monsters attached. So it is a slower Raigeki that cannot be negated that has a chance of not activating and just going -2. Not as good but it still is interesting

I don't understand how this works, you get attacked by tenpai then use slime, add sun god to hand. You can't activate it that turn cus it's your opponents turn and even if you survive true sun god locks you aswell
