I agree with your thoughts on the Nitro Max...I recently bought a set and really like them. They fit into the small space I have in my studio and work for my needs. Upgrade in the future is very likely. love the channel !!

I currently have simmons sd350 which is small n compact. I have a small room so i need something small n compact. I want to get roland td07 but that might be too big. I might have to go with alesis nitro max due to its small size but more sounds vs sd350. Other than weak rack n snare holder was there anything else u didnt like? How r the sounds? I want something small n compact close to the simmons sd350 so is the nitro max still pretty small n close to sd350 size?? Thanks I think rolands r great and in ur situation id look at roland. Anything up in that price range is going to be top notch tho whatever the brand.

The sounds of the Nitro Max are great. The rack and having to buy a snare stand were the things I didn’t like the most. Seems like it would be similar size to the SD350 from the pix.

My vote would be efnote 5 or the VAD 504 (and the maybe add 1 more cymbal to that). I have a VAD 507 and find if you are recording, having the digital snare + ride make a huge difference (and HH which i bought separately). I really like the efnote but just wish i could play one first but there is no store close to me that has them on display as of yet. I ended up with my VAD kit because i actually spent more time and money trying to save money if you know what i mean.

Agreed, there are no Canadian dealers that stock them so I’d have to order it without paying. I know what you mean about ending up spending more time and money. Once you commit to something that’s around 4K, spending another grand to get the best thing with no compromises isn’t as big of a deal as it might sound to some.

@@cleverdood I would do Roland then. There are so many options with sculpting the sound in the module you can get what you want with some tweaking. And if you just use VSTs anyway, then it doesn't matter. And if you hate it, resale value holds up well

how much did it cost to rent this for 2 months? Half the purchase price?
