Awesome video and pictures Paul. Thank you so much for the shout out, it was great to meet you and to talk shop over a cup of tea. Your Ortho photos are the best examples of that film that I have seen. I’m looking forward to catching up with you again sometime soon. Cheers

As always a beautifully shot video, truly contemplating. Thank you very much! Nice place and atmosphere. I see the same littering when I'm on a photowalk in nature. Some of it disturbs an image and instead of moving it out of the frame now I startet to bring some bags with me to collect at least some of the smaller trash like papers, cigaret packs, cans and stuff like this, leaving it at the next trash can. A dirty place lowers the inhibition threshold for others to drop things. And in opposite a cleaner place raises it. It's not my trash but it's my planet. I'm trying to be a part of the change I want to see. It's not that a single one has to be 100% perfect but many of us at least a little bit better.

@@PaulCSmithPhotographer Thank you. Yes, there are absolutely things to photograph around here too - just nothing as naturally wild unfortunately. Denmark is one of the most cultivated countries in the world - and very flat with no mountains or big rivers at all.

Paul C Smith Photographer its in the country, in the city... i’ve never felt more strongly about corporal punishment to solve a social ill. When I was at a music festival in Japan about 10 years ago, there were 100k people there. No trash on the ground. They purposefully picked up everything. Littering is symptom of cultural degeneracy.

Lovely images, Paul. The B+W ones are my favourites. I have not tried Ilford Ortho Plus yet; I feel inspired to check it out. Like you, I find it both sad and frustrating that too many people show their lack of respect by leaving litter behind. All too common here in Canada as well.

Hot springs, Oh I dream of hot springs. As much as I love the land of mountain and of flood it would be so nice to take your boots off and get a warm soak. Beautiful place, but I'm not a great fan of fallen trees in the water, they sort of halt the eye, luckily the mist obscures them.

Lovely long exposures, Paul. What sort of times are you using with your ND filter, and are you doing any reciprocity maths?! Shame about the litter. As some others have said, it's becoming (always been?) a problem everywhere... Some people just don't give a shoot. We all need to do our bit and some just don't... :-( Cheers

Hi Matt, the Ortho Plus was shot without filters and exposed at 1 sec, I always take an alternative shot at least half a stop more. With the ND filter and 400 speed film I think I was exposing at around 15 sec and applying the same half stop rule. Yea its sad, this place was particularly bad, and I am afraid that most of it is probably locals. Real shame.

@DonFather 4 жыл бұрын
People who litter are also the type of people who think they have "the right" to do anything they like, and obviously if you tell them how to do something or what they should do, then they will take up arms & blame YOU for trying to take away their "rights." There's a special place in the after life for those people.
