Hearing you say "consistent connection points" blew my mind. It's so obvious from my few years of learning but that wording really made it click. Thanks Sarah!

Ok... what kind of pen did you use in the opening of this video? Please.. it looks like an old school Flair Marker! Paper Mate makes the and they've been around as long as I have. I keep buying pens that you recommend but I never seem to find one like this pen you're using. Or... maybe I have and don't know how to use it. 😢 I'm trying so hard to write like you and I keep forgetting you've been doing this for years. When I watch your speeded up videos I actually think you're writing that fast. I forget How long you've been doing this. I keep thinking you one day picked up a pen and wrote beautifully perfect letters.I'm so hard on myself. But I only have myself, so I have to give myself Pep talks and I have to scold myself for being so hard on ME! I've already spent over $100 on lettering supplies so now all I need is patience. Do you have any tips on where I can buy some of that? Patience? I need a ton of it! Good talk. Thanks for your input. ❤🙃 P.s. imagine me saying all of that on ONE BREATH! coz that's what it felt like reading it back to myself. 🤣😅😂😂 (Oh Susan.. seriously.. you're embarrassing!😮)... that's my conscious talking to me. She drives me nuts but... she's seldom wrong!

Hey 👋🏼 yes! Very very helpful information. I’m making the wall art for my bathroom makeover. I’ve been trying to figure out what to write & how to write it. You’ve been super helpful. But practice helps! Especially, if you stopped lettering and it’s been a hot lil minute since you’ve actually stopped to take time for yourself.

I'm very new to lettering and this helped me tremendously to understand why some lettering I see looks better than others. I have one question though: as a German who actually wrote cursive most of her life, (I'm working really hard on remembering to lift my pen when actually lettering) ... the lowercase d looks so weird to me. The "loop" that is basically a lowercase l just feels so out of place for me. But like... 99% of lettering styles I have seen have this d and it's just something that really ... bothers me, I guess. Do you have any tips/style you could point me to that doesn't "loop" the lowercase d? I would be forever grateful!
