i have been calligraphy-ing for like 2 years now and ngl i thought i was a pro, getting all those good grades on my pojects. I just saw this vid and thought now how my calligraphy skills is like trash 🤠 .

Hi. Good point you see yourself that way, I do that too (not in hand lettering particularly), but please keep practicing no matter what. You make a piece of art with your own style (regarding the rules of course), just enjoy the process. Btw I am quite a newbie in handlettering with brush pens, but I have been taking up traditional calligraphy course using copperplate and parallel pens before I jumped up on brush pen calligraphy. I think the number 1 rule isn't really a rule because you could try doing your letters inconsistent. There's no right or wrong for that. It's only based on how you want your letters to be.

You know my story : I started lettering or calligraphy when I saw it on Google and then I tried and practice and then I tried to copy it and finally I did it with a cheap faber castle black marker becuz I was not having equipment for the first time doing the calligraphy so then I tried to do it again and again and I got perfect with a marker and thats thesame way I learned to draw, sketch and beautiful hand writing and lettering or calligraphy.
