@@edmundlau8173 driving an emergency vehicle Code 3 doesn't automatically give you the authority to haul ass and blow through red lights. Emergency equipment is just asking for the right of way, you still have to drive with caution since unsuspecting motorists may not see/hear the siren/lights due to how soundproof a lot of cars are nowadays with the A/C, radio, and windows rolled up. Good thing the black car who had the green light didn't decide to pull through the intersection and get t-boned by the first squad traveling in excess of 60 mph. The would have been a fatality crash for the driver and possibly the officer too, which then the officers behind him would have had to stop to render to them instead of responding to the call they were going to.

ummm not to be a drag but California law doesn't allow air horn in the intersection, prior fine but hi low and air horn isn't recognized while in a intersection. just saying. if you hit someone your liable unfortunately using those 2 as it is required in backward cali a continuous siren is used.

Yeah that's true...air horn is permitted when approaching an intersection, but Yelp is recommended when going through an intersection.

LosRioDelMar i know in LA they don't use airhorns at all, but for some reason here in sac, SAC PD and SAC SHERIFFS use it often.
