What helped me was buying a decent Blue ridge acoustic guitar and also a nylon strung Spanish guitar plus a child’s 3/4 size classical guitar. Playing in the dark was a revelation. Thinking about what you are doing does not help. You actually need to play without thinking. The best advice I can give is “leave your guitar out on a stand” you will learn quicker.

Tomas Thank you so much for a great Q & A session on 4-6. All this advice/ pointers on practice are so good. Making notes on all these different aspects & putting them to use as I develop a better practice routine... Thank you 🎶

Thank you Tomas. I actually do some of these things already, like playing scales slow on certain days and fast on others. As you say, to push yourself. It's great to know that it's something that can and should be done. Something I also do, (tip # 20), haha... I keep a log of my practice sessions. It's really cool to look back thru and see the progress. Like trying to use the 'big', (4 finger G cord). I started not even being able to switch cleanly @ 40 bpm. I'm up to cleanly switching at 82 now. Again thank you!

Thanks for adding your tip Willie. Keeping a progress log is a great idea. You're and inspiration! 😄
