I've been cloning areoponicly for over 20 years. Always using a water heater and my pump runs 24/7. Never had an issue. Cleanliness it the key. If you having issues try adding hydrogen peroxide to the water. I like to add some to the glass that I'm placing my cuts into as i cut them. At 73 F. I'm popping roots in 5 days with most strains 7-10 days in the cloner and I'm transplanting. Clean your cloner before every run, that is the most important and overlooked step in the process.

Just want to correct one fact around 6:20: While plants can store energy in their root systems, that's long-term starch storage, like for carrots and sweet potatoes, not for daily energy molecule output like ATP. Those are stored in the chloroplasts of the leaves. I'm also a bit baffled why leaving the light on 24/7 works since the plant needs dark reactions (like the Calvin cycle) to convert the ATP to sugars, but I can't argue with 100% success.

The dark reactions in the Calvin cycle are called "dark" because they do not need photons for the reaction, but take place during the day. It´s a common misconception. I don´t like giving plants lights 24/7 for two reasons; 1. They don´t need it, less electricity. 2. I´ve noticed plants root faster giving them 4 hours of dark every day.

Our tap water comes from an earthen dam reservoir, and tho it undergoes too much "purification" for my purposes, the plants seem to thrive on it.

Have you ever considered or read up on the research on lighting schedule that have shorter days and nights, so you can have three 6 hour days split up by 2 hour nights (to basically simulate a much shorter day) the theory being that these plants don't need a 6 hour night, but a two hour one can be more useful, especially if following a day cycle, some stuff I have read claims that it creates a 'more efficient' day/night cycle (obviously the original paper that I read was much more scientific than the explanation that I'm giving and I don't remember all the minute details)
@assog57373 жыл бұрын
Richard Mac, Great comment. And it makes me wonder why this guy didn't respond to your comment. Let me share a little experiment I did year's ago. And I still grow some of my plants with this light schedule. To get a jump on my outdoor grows. I would start the plants indoors under a 18/6 light schedule. And then EVERYTIME I would put these plants outdoors they would start to flower. Then they would go back to veg. They were all confused. And growth would suffer dramatically. So I did alot of reading and studying. And decided to try a different light schedule. I went with a 7 hours on and 1 1/2 hours off. I noticed NO difference in growth compared to a 18/6 schedule. And then when I put them outdoors all the plants stayed in the veg stage. This solved my problem. And like a stated there is NO difference in growth compared to a 18/6 schedule. So now I grow all my mother's under this schedule. The way I grow my plants don't get a veg stage. I go straight to 12/12 from clone. With aeroponics in the SOG. Anyway I thought I would share my experience with that light schedule. And again great comment. Take care.. ASS OG AeroSystemsSea OfGreen.

@@PerfectGardensTV Most issues can be fixed by using the correct type of mist. The timing required is just 2 seconds of mist every 10 minutes (lights on) and 2 seconds every 20 minutes (lights off). The very small amount of water used allows you to run the cloner drain to waste (non recirculating) which means the clones only get fresh, clean pathogen free water. If you run your submersible pump for 15 minutes, the stems will be soaked in less than a minute, the other 14 minutes wont make them any wetter. Its a waste of power and only serves to heat up the water. For comparison, a genuine aero cloner uses far less power and adds no heat to the water as the pump will only run for a total of 256 seconds a day if the light schedule is 18/6. |If you have good mains water with decent pressure you dont even need a pump, just can use a solenoid and a timer. If you have issues with water hammer, you can use a small reverse osmosis tank (3-4 gallon) and fill it from the mains water supply once every day or two. The tank will act like a rechargable battery but storing pressurized water instead of electricity.

You have a few misconceptions of general botany. Specially regarding plant growth. Cannabis barely stores sugars in the root system and grows during the day and during the night. For a clone to root the plant needs to send energy and a hormone signal to an undifferentiated meristem in the stalk. These meristems divide and become root meristems, which later become roots. For all of you washing your hands, and using hormones, and special cloners for rooting just know that its called a weed for a reason. 90% rooting succes just by putting the clones in a cup of water and leaving them with the mother plants. You don´t even have to change the water. It takes 2-3 weeks to root properly instead of the 5-8 days it takes with an aeroponic cloner.

After reading everybody's comments and this guy's response. I must jump in here. Some of the information this guy is saying is true. I've been cloning with aero for about 10 years now. I purchased my first aero cloner. And then built 4 other one's at a fraction of the cost of the one I purchased. I will explain my setup. I use t12 florescent lights over my cloners. Because they don't put off that much heat. I buy the smallest pound pump you can buy. It shoots out plenty of water. And puts out hardly any heat at all. I have a/c in my mother and clone room, so I don't have to worry about room temperature. I use plain tap water NOTHING else. I found that when I used a gel it would turn my stems brown and they wouldn't root. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use a humidity dome. There is NO need to when cloning with aero. I run my pumps constantly. No on or off times. There is NO need for on or off times when cloning with aero. You only need on and off times when you are growing with aero. Which I have been doing for the last 10 years. And this is the only way I grow. With aeroponics in the SOG. I have a 100 percent success rate, and I have for the last 9 years. I start getting roots in 5 days, and in 10 days they ALL have roots. Now due to the way I grow. I let the roots grow for a total of 17 days. Then they get moved to one of the 4 aero systems I built. And they go straight into 12/12. No veg time. I'm on a 2 week rotation. So this means I harvest one system ( 42 plants ) every 2 weeks. So in turn this means I have to have 42 clones ready every 2 weeks. To keep the 2 week rotation going. I keep all 5 of my aero cloners running all the time. Because I sell hundreds of clones a month. So basically the best tips I can give you is ALWAYS keep your pumps running. And AWAYS keep your water or solution below 70. This is so easy. It isn't brain surgery. Oh and one more thing. Remember this guy is just trying to make a sale. Sorry dude, but that's the truth. Good luck everybody. Later.. ASS OG AeroSystemsSea OfGreen.

@@PerfectGardensTV Hey bro, I just watched another of your videos. And I got the full name of the product I asked you about. Drops of balance. I'm going to go purchase some today. I hope. Thanks again. Later. Oh wait a minute. I want to share the one thing that I did, to achieve a 100 percent success rate using a aero cloner. Let me start with the first 2 times I tried cloning with aero. I had a 50 site cloner. So I took 10 clones. Walked over to the cloner. Dipped them in gel and installed into cloner. Then I took 10 more and so on until the cloner was full. Then I plugged in the cloner. And I got shit results. The second attempt I did the same thing. With the same results. So one night I sat there for about hour looking at the cloner. Thinking what the hell im i doing wrong. Three days into the second attempt, I new the gel was not good for aero cloning. But I new that there was something else I was missing. So I physically went through my whole process again. Went over to one of my mother's took 10 clones, walked over to the cloner and acted like I put them in the cloner. And during this I happened to look at the cut ends of the clones. And they were drying up and closing. Bingo. My third attempt. I set up my cloner and plugged it in. I went to a mother took 10 clones and immediately put them in a glass of water. I walked over to the cloner. And just for the heck of it. I cut a little more off the end and installed them in the running cloner. And the rest is history. A 100 percent success rate ever since. Also this is why you do not want a on and off time while cloning. I just thought I would share this. Since you share so much. Because I don't usually share shit anymore. Because most people don't appreciate it. Anyway this is what works for me. Take care. Later......

Hi mate! Im from argentina. Im getting botrytis in All My cuts. ALL. No ones survive. I use RO water (ósmosis+uv sterilizer). I see algae on the third day and botrytis above the plugs. I've been trying for a long time, I'm desperate. I use osmosis water (ec 0.1) and ph 5.8-6.0. I use sterilized blades and clonex for the cuts. After watching this video, in my next batch, I'm going to take the water temperature. I have also noticed a lot of temperature in the dome. My main question is: I can't get dropsofbalance here. Can you tell me how many ml of peroxide should I use per liter? please. I already say my water, I think it's fine ...

Npetrocco, You are the second person that stated in your comment that you are using a dome. And getting mold. And this guy didn't respond to that. Let me help you out, since this guy didn't. When cloning with aero you do not want or need to use a humidity dome. Because you will ALWAYS get mold above the insert. The only real secret to cloning with aero is to keep your water or solution below 70.

Look up pythium or dampening off..that’s what’s happening my guy..you have too much moisture surrounding your plant. No need for a dome with aeroponic cloning.

What temperature gauge (digital) you reccomend for measuring water temperature?
@PerfectGardensTV4 жыл бұрын
Go get a baby temp gauge if you want to keep it simple and remeasure your water ever hour for a week. If your grow room is Temperature controlled you will always know your temperature of your water and how far you are from ideal water temps. If you do not have a temperature controlled room then I would recommend finding a probe that has a extension Keep the extension in the water at all times and stay aware of the time times of the day so your water does get to hot. Hope this makes since and helps in some way. Mark

@assog57373 жыл бұрын
Steve Xoff, I've been cloning with aero for about 10 years. And when cloning with aero, you don't want ANY off time with your pump. You want those stems to constantly get water. You don't want to give those plants any chance of drying out. Because just a little bit of drying will cause some of the stem to dry up. And this will effect the rooting and also it effects the growth of the plant later on.

that drops of balance is stupid fucking expensive. id rather kms than buy that. according to my math at 4mL dose per cleaning at 10 dollars per ounce that is 1.33(repeating of course) USD per cleaning. Compare that to Bleach which is about a penny (USD) per cleaning or hydrogen peroxide which is about .33 (repeating of course) USD per cleaning.
