I rake and the brush (mostly for fluffing up his coat) Sam Malone almost every day. It is a nice bonding thing and he always seems to feel much better afterwards. Besides this fall will be the first time he blows his coat (turning 2) and I figure it is just a good habit to get into. Sammie is also a short haired Husky like Brittany Spears and Hila.

Just let him/her bite you lol. The first couple of months after I got a 1 1/2 year old my forearms never got a break but in time he learned not to break my skin (the first week my forearms would get bloody they have very sharp teeth). I bought some welding gloves and he knows rough play is only for the gloves. They need rough play it is what they do when they are around other Huskys. Often he likes to have my hand or arm in his mouth (not biting) but it is his way of showing me he loves me.

Don't yell, but in a stern voice tell the dog "NO" then immediately offer a toy as a substitute. When they go for the toy (instead of you) give them lots of praise. It won't happen right away but with training they'll figure out that biting humans is a no-no.

You mentioned bathing, but when I mentioned that on a Husky Facebook group, everyone jumped down my throat about bathing too much/often.... so how often do you bathe your huskies? Do you use dry shampoo at all? What's your favorite husky shampoo? I first-time husky owner. She's currently 3-months-old so I'm open to suggestions, but I definately don't want a stinky husky (she has been stinky - regardless of "self-cleaning") on my carpet...
