Wow you legit have me interested in these. They sound really good! Great playing also dude loved the song selection.

I bought the guitar just so I could use them, that's how sold on the whole thing I was. I reckon if you mixed these with mic recordings it would be pretty killer. Thanks, I'm glad my inexperience with an acoustic guitar isn't obvious enough to detract from the enjoyment.

Man, that's genuinely quite impressive. I've always had a violent hatred of piezo acoustic sounds, and this really does appear to make them useable in a pinch!

I use these IR with an Ovation shallow body acoustic. I use the DI and get tremendous change in the sound and tone. I now own three of these IRs. When used with an electric, there is a noticeable difference, but isn't nearly as drastic or convincing when used with acoustic.

They all sounded very believable to my big surprise ;-) I used to do pretty good recordings with a custom acoustic guitar I used to have and a cheap Behringer C-1 microphone and the results very very good...

I've found that the neck pickup works best when using an electric guitar as it captures way more of the body tone. The bridge pickup sounds "quacky". Even if the neck pickup isn't quite right, you can use the tone knob on your guitar or EQ in the chain to correct. Edit: apparently 3Sigma agrees. I just checked and the guy playing the V is using the neck pickup.

All of these impulses sound decent, but not all that believable. I bought an acoustic guitar without a pickup because I knew I would never be playing it live (funny enough, now rethinking that), but just using a simple SM57 mic and a touch of reverb and EQ gets an acoustic tone you can be proud of, though a second actually good mic definitely helps.. The hardest thing to me is the performance, making sure you don't move too much etc.

by the way, if you want to take an impulse responce of your own guitar, all you have to do is record the sound of giving it a strong flick on the back, then boosting the highs of the recorded impulse a little

Didn't seem to work particularly well with your fossil-build. Work well with the acoustic DIs though. Are these just an impulse that you'd stick into the FX on a track? Much like the Lexicon room reverbs? Peavey's ReValver has a good acoustic emulator that will even work with an electric.

What do you think of the TC bodyrez pedal? I know it's not an impulse, but it's sort of related in that it's attempting to improve the sound of an acoustic DI. It sounded great to me. Thoughts?

The Gibby 15 sounded great but I am an old codger and I don't get it. The impulse is some sort of software but where does it go? I guess I could get a Line 6 Helix but at $1400 I could get a real Gibby 15.
