That last sequence in stockfish gives a weird result. King doesnt take the bishop, but it still says its mate in 8 for white. But going through the moves it then says its only a position of +7.5 or so after horsey jumps to discover check the white king. It looks like there is no forced mate.

That initial position is just the kind that drives me nuts. My mind tends to go on tilt when I'm faced with a number of plausible moves in a complicated position. And I still agonize over whether to play ...fxe4 or ...f4, even after decades of trying to make up my mind. ...Nxc6 instead of bxc6 is a very instructive move, as I'd be inclined to automatically recapture with the pawn to contest the center, but it's easy to see now that recapturing with the pawn is superior.

the Ba6 move at the end looks completely normal even though it's a blunder and I think it would be easier for white to find the Nc6 tactic than it would be for black. If I was black and calculated Ba6 I wouldn't even think about calculating any further cuz the position seems normal so I would probably make the same mistake

Everybody said QF1 sac but I thought Be5 and then Qf1. EDIT: after a few minutes it turns out I was right and you did just that and got check-mate but WHY did you say you missed the stronger move? Your Be5 was mate in 3. The Qf1 sac would be just a major reduction and still many moves to play before end.
@Yohan421-e5g21 күн бұрын
I was wondering the same, checkmate is better than queen capture anyhow
@ralftjongakiet191520 күн бұрын
Qf1 Rf1 and Be5 are all checks and force white to react. The move Be5 first is not a check and so white could play Rg1 for instance and there is no mate. So that is why Qf1 etc is the strongest sequence
