You will be glad to hear that you are not alone, its a common problem, and it can be fixed.

I just wanted to pop a note of thanks to you for so many great tutorials. Last August I watched your trail arm video that was an epiphany for me! Since then my index has dropped six points (admittedly easier when you start at a big number), and just in the past month I’ve been breaking 100 consistently. Your videos have given me some crucial info that none of my coaches thru the years ever did. Thanks again!

Perfect timing Chris thankyou. Since we've got back to playing I feel some shots are rushed and am actually working on rhythm so these ideas will be great to try.

It does often happen after a break or time away, touch, feel, timing and tempo are often the first to get out of sync

Thank you Chris, perfect timing again, as there’s been something missing in my swing and this is it, so I’ve just read in my Tiger Woods book in that he has the feeling like he’s letting his arms drop first rather than force them from the transition. Which is along the lines of what this lesson provides; only you’ve given some excellent drills to help it. Appreciated as always!

Glad it was well timed, unfortunately much easier to do in practice than out in the course with a card in your pocket, but hopefully the drills help 👊

Thanks for this Chris. Is a bit of head movement towards the target ok in transition? I struggle with the idea of keeping my head back but getting weight forward. I tend to do one or the other but not both!

Fantastic drills mate! Will definitely give the timing a go in practice. I was swinging so fast at the weekend to compensate for how windy it was... Quick question, I assume this timing drill works for all clubs? Even woods and driver? Thanks again, mate.

Great video, I am one of those that suffers with the red mist at the top of the backswing, and fire the clubhead at the ball from the start. Probably why I duff so many

Hi Chris, been watching you for a long time now and I feel you have had an incredible impact on my play. I have a great swing angle and my club face is usually square. My question is or my concern is...I don't feel I'm striking the ball as effectively as I should be. When I'm on the course, I'll duff shots I normally crush on the range. Is it just practice, practice, practice?
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, could be a number of things, one of the more common is that practice and the golf course can be quite different. Try to practice like you would play, cart the club each shot, change the target, space the shots out more to simulate the course. Also worth tying to create some subtle change in stance, just like we get on the golf course with uneven ground. These are what I call transfer sessions, trying to take your swing that clearly works and transfer it to the course environment. Hope that helps

Hi Chris, Is rushing the reason why i sometimes have a bad off shot to the left? Its like topping, i think a bit with the 'heel' but really strong to the left. Please, what to do? Grtz Bas
@jmags2573
@jmags2573 3 жыл бұрын
When I realize I'm rushing I go back to an old video of yours. "Feel the late release" or something like that. In it you emphasize a weight shift and dragged the handle across the top of a chair. Its as if the club is paused at the top while everything else moves forward. Works for me.

Great tips Chris. I struggle at times maintaining width and get the club inside very quick. All this shortens the backswing as room is restricted. Any tips on how to maintain the width....I’ve been using the hinge method you showed last week or so. Been trying it out at the range trying to get the club into the slot before raising the hands and Turning the shoulders. Cheers Tony
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony, if the club is working in too early it will either be over rotating the arms, in which case that drill you refer to would be ideal. Or it could be the body over roaring to early, in which case that would need to be addressed. Ideally try to film yourself and see which is causing the problem 👍
