How to make the most of 3 skull zones and farm Night Caches.
Multiplayer is getting an update next week. I thought people would invite more friends and more newbie guides would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for doing this beginner guide on the night cache, James! I know the video is four years old but it is still extremely useful! I went in and lost my direwolf with the cache location skill in under a minute because the night guest scared him away even though I had my flaming bow out. I had never even seen a night cache even though I had been trying for a couple weeks. Anyway, I wore the t4 chest piece with everything else t2 and actually found the night cache!!! Just as I opened it, an excile popped up! I didn't have room for everything and I really didn't want to risk dying so I decided to zone him. Two steps away from the line and the gong sounded, signaling dawn and I was broken hearted that I wouldn't get the rest of the treasure! However, when I got back in, the cache was still there! Super long story (sorry) just to let people know that you just need to open it before dawn and the treasure will remain. Thanks again for the guide! Super helpful and I've subscribed so I can watch all the rest you have done! Great job! 🎉

EDIT TO THE VIDEO - You can NOT find 2 night caches in the SAME night, but the guide is still good if you want 2 CHANCES to find 1 night cache per night. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In response to all of the "Expensive" comments: 1:41 - I specifically mention I know it's more than the minimum 1:50 - I mention that people who get more experienced/comfortable with the map that they can lower how much armor/weapons/healing items they bring Acceptable cheap armor to bring would be full T2 armor, and maybe bring the T4 chest piece if you're planning on fighting Damned Templars. If you're just going to aggro and loot, you only need T2 armor to kill Damned Knights.

Not a bad guide, though I fee like using t3 armour is too expensive. The two most popular armour choices are 150 and 170 armour, since they give enough armour and are much cheaper to craft. Some people like to bring a t4 chest, but only equip it for damned knights and templars. Weapon choices are good, you could have also mentioned that any weapon with 31 damage is enough as your "main" weapon (to 4 shot direwolves). So a one handed sword and spiked mace with passives at certain levels are also good choices. Also I find it extrememly beneficial to gather lots of berries both in the s3 zone and the s2/1 which I use to reset it, as it saves moutains of healing. Oh, and it's impossible to get 2 night caches in the same night - I know people made videos where that happened before, but it was nerfed some time ago. Certainly a good guide to help new players start farming s3 zones!

Thank you for the super awesome analysis and feedback. I do realize the armor cost is high, and specifically mentioned it. However, I am firm in my belief that overprotection and bringing home all the items vs bringing the minium and running a higher risk of dying is worth it. Great reasoning with the 31 damage weapon, however, because my focus for this was to get two 3 skull zones done in the same night because you may not get a night cache on the first 3 skull zone of the night, it is better to use the slightly stronger weapons instead of a one-handed sword with a buff because of it's slower clearing speed/attack speed, as well as, level 4 is the highest you can get combat mastery for Spiked Mace after repeatedly doing 2 skull zones which would make it's damage 30 and is therefore not as viable for killing direwolves.

yeah as a guide for beginners a lvl 2 SM mastery won't help much (lvl 2 is max for s2), though 1HS lvl1+ won't affect your run speed. You still do 3-4 zones a night (though I personally find 4 almost impossible, even with spiked maces). The armour is good to start out with, but later the costs add up - t3 costs 29 thick cloth while 170 costs 15 - that's a 14 difference. You can expect to bring 2-3 stacks of cloth + some thick cloth. Let's say about ~30 thick cloth (equivalent)/run. This means that if you use most of your t3 set you'll barely benefit in terms of armour. So while people who are just starting out might want to be safer, long term this is not worthwhile as while you are more protected the most dangerous thing is a scimi AI, meaning you have to tank ~60 dmg, around 28? dmg with 170 armour. Those shouldn't hit you more than twice before you have time to react and heal, i.e. you need to keep your hp at 70 or higher, which means you can easily do that using regular food and berries without ever overhealing. (Other enemies are slow or don't hit hard). Since the point of doing s3 is to get things for the dungeon and north people need to do them efficiently, making t3 armour overkill. I wear 170 armour and use spiked maces on templars, and find berried to be sufficient healing unless 3+templars spawn in one of the zones, which is rare.

@@arseniykantor4491 I definitely agree that over time it is costly, but again, the guide was meant for people who need a guide and struggle with learning how to do the zone, to begin with. That's why I mention that as people get more comfortable with the zone to decrease the amount of armor they wear.

Just subscribed. Nice video, very informative. One question: Do damned templar spawn randomly and follows you round even if you exit the map and then re-enter?
@jamesorlong
@jamesorlong 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the sub and yes, damned templars may spawn in randomly and chase you even if you exit and re-enter the zone. That's why I say people should be ready to kill them with a strong 50+ damage weapon so they don't have to leave chests behind.

@@Yutub_cCunt_num Sorry if it's disappointing =/ I guess I should've also specifically stated the lower armor that is decent to do it once people are experienced at the zone, but I thought that would've made the video too long.

I've already set the assumption in my video that players have ran 2 skull zones enough to get level 2-4 in each skill. That means they should have at LEAST 40 bronze laying around and copper in a large amount, unless they've made their base like mine, and made like 4+ outer layers of walls and all of their interior floor level 3. Also just doing the 3 skull zone 2 times will give about as much bronze as you spend on a bastard sword, as well as you will likely find some in the chests for free, meaning players will profit in bronze. Lastly, even while doing runs like this I still make more cloth/thick cloth + leather than I use on the armor, so the only thing that players would lose and need to regain from other areas while farming like this would be copper, which isn't hard to get at all.

Thanks. I'm aware it is on the more pricey side as opposed to, "The cheapest way to do ..." but the purpose is to help people struggling with the zone. I also mentioned that when people get more comfortable they can use less/cheaper armor/weapons :)

what about fighting aissa and when will she re-spawn after killing her.
@jamesorlong
@jamesorlong 4 жыл бұрын
Are you asking me to make a guide on how to kill Aissa? For Aissa fight, you will need 13-30 leg traps depending on the weapons you bring. If you have weapons that deal true damage like warhammer and poison dagger you will need 13-15, if you are using regular weapon like halibard and claymore, you will need 25-30. You will need a torch to scare off the night guests and a 35+ damage weapon to 2 shot skeletons that spawn. About 2-3 stacks of barrels of honey or 1400-2100 hp worth of healing and don't forget drinks so you don't die of thirst while eating honey. You will also need a bow to stop her from chanting and charming you. For armor about 240 is good enough to deal with the skeletons and just never get hit by Aissa cause she can instantly kill you. You'll definately want a t4 or t5 chest piece to get the extra pocket, the rest of your armor can be t1 or t2, and you will want t4 or t5 shoes to outrun Aissa. After you kill her she will spawn 2 dire bats, and you need to kill them to exit the map. After you kill her for the first time, she will respawn randomly within a few days like an event.

@@aldwin3283 yeah, I know. I switched to T2 armor and T4 chest when I fight damned knights and templars recently. I was only temporarily wearing full t3 armor cause i wasn't used to 3 skull zones yet.
