I love these songs. Elizabeth Parcells is sublime as usual. The guitarist is also excellent. This set is Op.95 though. It's a set of 6 ariettes.

I can't hear the guitar chords in the first song.. wish it was louder in the mix.. The second song has a better blend and the third one is too quiet on the guitar part as well. But the singing is molto bene, very good and balanced on all the songs. Perhaps I'll purchase the CD if the recording quality is better.. Thanks for posting!

Very beautifully done. Too bad the recording quality does not do justice to the performance. A few distortions at the highest peaks ruin the otherwise excellent recording. Is it possible for you to re-post this with reduced volume? High-volume cut-off seems to be a common problem with a lot of classical performances. TIA.

All the voice and guitar recordings were done in the quiet of the night in the same small German country church. The floor was marked for setup of chairs and mics. All audio setting were exactly repeated. The sound went to a pair of VERY expensive microphones, to an analog to digital converter, then to VHS tape. The recordings were comissioned by a high end audiophile loud speaker company that wanted the best possible fidelity of natural sound to show off their speakers. On elizabethparcells.com there are 4 full CD's more of this.
