Undertale is full of weird names. Tu"toriel", "Gaster is actually "W.D. Gaster" or Wingdin-g Aster. Windings and Aster being two more fonts. Undyne is based on Undine, the mythical female water spirits, also a play on “undying”, and even Alphys is an anagram for “a sylph” or “sylpha” which is a spirit of the air. Air spirits and water spirits having lesbian relationships is common in mythological literature.

These are brilliant. I don't animate (other than some middle school Pivot Stickfigure Animator stuff) but I've always been extremely appreciative of the hard work inscribed in even the simplest of animations. This series is really helping deepen and expand my knowledge of animating principles, and be more observant of the masters at work in some of my favorite animated films (like Fantasia or the Emperor's New Groove).

Wow. I've already learned so much from your videos. I'm planning to make a comic book made entirely out of GIFs in my free time and I want the animation to have an old Disney feel. This is like a free course that I would've paid hundreds to take. So thank you.

SkeleCrafter Squash and stretch can be seen more realistically in things like our human legs too :) How they absorb the energy of landing from a high jump and turn the stored energy back into kinetic energy. Does this still count??

Lovely series of videos on Principles. I have a question regarding staging in the above banana peel example. What if the story demanded that someone from the crowd threw the banana peel just after the main characters enters(instead of the banana peel already being there). Would you still call that bad staging? In that case, how would you execute the above scenario? Thanks!
@bluerabbitinc
@bluerabbitinc 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say, start with the crowd moving with nothing else, then let's make a close up on one of the spectators, the one that's gonna throw the peel and have they do it. After that we go back to the main scenario and see the peel fall on the floor. Then the other character enters (while the crowd may be moving in a loop, we already got attention on the banana peel). We're looking at the banana and then the character that will fall enters the screen and it gets our attention. They fall, and after that, we can change the animation of the crowd to make them laughing. It's kinda complex, but the idea is to present the action in a manner that the public understands what's happening.
