This is unbelievably helpful!!! I’ve struggled for a long time with male hair, even when I try to make different styles they all end up looking so similar, like the same style. Given the story I’ve been working on for years, it always makes illustrations of the male characters so daunting

What's male hair? Isn't hair gender neutral?
@cloudpie31342 жыл бұрын
@@Stellarfront oml they were referring to a male character with hair, they probably mean a more masculine/short look 🗿
@PinkWytchBytch2 жыл бұрын
@@Stellarfront Don’t even. Just don’t. I don’t give a flying f@ck about it. Facts are facts, and fact is that male hairstyles exist, female hairstyles exist, and unisex hairstyles exist. Don’t go causing fights where there doesn’t need to be one. It’s ridiculous to start arguments over something that doesn’t matter and has only been offending people for a handful of years. I am part of the LGTBQ community and I promise very very few of us give a damn about gender assignment to this kinda stuff. So politely take your self righteousness and leave

It's been quite a while since you posted a video, we missed you! Two of my greatest difficulties while drawing is to give the hair a natural shape and detail it properly, this vídeo will help me a LOT with that. Thank ya!

Thank you for explaining how you draw hair, I never realize to start at a single point, I usually just draw lines everywhere until it looks ok and also the alphabet method of coloring hair! I've never seen that before, I HAVE to try it! I think I will also start with the letters *G-A-Y* since it was used in the video~ 😏 I'm not a digital artist, so I'll just have to make it work.

This is very helpful! I've always wondered how good artists manage to draw such pretty hair so easily without struggling for hours, painting every little strand if hair individually. And most tutorials just say "put basic colour. now add shading and highlights" and I'm like ??? yeah but how?! So, this is exactly what I've been missing from all the other totals or videos I've seen so far, it's really helpful.

I know I‘m late, but I just wanted to thank you for what you achieved and did for all of us here. Your tips are incredible, and after all hair is the thing that stands out the MOST while looking at characters, it‘s the thing that makes them so different, just like eyes or whatever. This tutorial is awesome, thank you! Hair is one of the things I struggle with, especially colouring it nicely. Another area I find difficult is fabric and clothes. My mind just does not want to compute how to put wrinkles in it haha. If you could do a tutorial starting from making the lineart for wrinkles, that would be very cool

tips for my fellow beginner artists! :) 1. don't rush yourself! amazing artists that you see out there, didn't get there in a day! they had to go through just as much struggle as you're going through, but don't worry, you'll get there! as the old saying goes, rome wasn't built in a day! 2. practice! don't be afraid to look up tutorials on whatever you need help practicing by other artists to help you! don't be afraid to use references, either! (pinterest has a lot of good references!) 3. be patient with yourself! don't beat or downgrade yourself if you can't get something just right! 4. stop saying, "i wish i could draw as good as them" or "i could never draw like that" instead, start saying, "i *will* be able to draw like them with enough practice and patience!" i hope this helps any beginner artists who are struggling with their art at the moment! i can't wait to see you as a professional artist soon!

Man... you can draw. People always told me "hands are the hardest thing to draw" I 100% disagree. Personally, hands are soo simple to me and i think it is because hands are always the same mechanically speaking. I can invision the inner working structure of hands while I draw, so they end up coming with ease and very naturally. Hair on the other hand is just chaos... structured chaos, this is where my problem always came in.. where the hell is the hair, where is it going, how fast is it going there.... hair has soo many variables that even choosing one of them to focus on was always hard for me. As soon as I finished this video I went to sketching and I cant even believe how much something soo simple has helped me. I never thought of centralizing my hairs for what ever reason and when I think about what you said.. it just makes sense. I was always in the thought of "hair grows from everywhere" where as your train of thought is "every strand of hair comes from a medial point". Literally 5 minutes after this video and I can already see huge improvments to how "natural" the hair feels. Thanks for the advice, have a sub. Look forward to watching your other videos. Cheers.

So glad I stumbled upon your channel. Your style of quick straightforward and simple direction/explanation is exactly what i look for in tutorial vids. your voice is very soothing without you talking too slow like many other channels where i need to put on 1.5x playback speed lol. also like that you only show the canvas instead of spending half of the video showing your face. (edit: feel the need to praise you even further for focusing on the rules of proportion rather than simply teaching us one specific technique.)
