16:22 I know Pastor Bohr does not hold this view but this is one of the reasons why I believe the 24 elders are the resurrected/translated humans. Not only did they not exist in Ezekiel's vision, but they existed after the first sight of the open door in Heaven in Revelation when Jesus is represented as a lamb after it had been slain. These elders experienced pressing into Christ with a sin-nature while on earth and overcoming fully because of His merits to be taken to Heaven. Who else but the overcomers in Jesus is most fit to mingle our faulty prayers with their respective experiences of Jesus' merits? And that the 24 elders have harps along with the vials of odours offering up with our prayers tells me they praise God all the time. A timely reminder to myself to practice praising God, even to the point of letting praise take the place of actual prayers in dark soul seasons.
