If I had to think of a symbol that encompasses these ideas, it would have to be *Bread.* (Maybe even *unleavened bread * specifically) Very random musings: * Following "Bread" through redemptive history and the Gospels... 1. Only priests have access to the Panim 2. David dabbles with the day-old Panim 3. 800 years later, the disciples are eating bread in the presence of God. So... Panim/Bread of the Presence -vs- The Last Supper *vis-a-vis* sacred space and access to the presence of God (I am also annoyed when people say 'vis a vis')😂😂😂 * "They ate, and they were satisfied." Loaves and fishes = the teaching of Christ = the Word of God ( Eat this scroll!) * "Turn these stones into Bread" vs. Jesus's answer... as Jesus 'dying to self' + subsistence (satisfaction) in the word of God - similiar idea to "whoever drinks my living water will never thirst" * Beware the yeast of the Pharisees: It elevates itself. It puffs up, as hypocrisy is wont to do. It breeds dissatisfaction b/c the oral law only convicts, it doesn't transform. * Jesus had a lot to say around food and he enjoyed food in fellowship. The Man of the Shroud, which I believe to be authentic, is 6 ft 2" tall and muscular. Huge for the day. Well-nourished. He even seemed to get "hangry," at times. You have to laugh at how the disciples scurried into town, bumbling and clueless, in order to get food. I don't think we should minimize it's importance as a metaphor. * Bless his heart, Paul was a stoic! Satisfied with his dissatisfaction. I imagine that he was as thin as a rail, sickly! I don't think there is one narrative example of him eating anything. He did seem to have a decent work-ethic, though. Work brings satisfaction, and Paul worked his a*s off!

Thanks brother. I cannot call myself obsessed with these themes because some my challenges with my walk with Christ are apathy and distraction 😂. However, the themes of dying to one self and pursuit of the presence of God are two of my focal points too. God bless!

I would love to hear an update on these topics. Especially 'satisfaction. '

Yeah, I was taking more notes on satisfaction this morning. It's certainly a thing.

I converted to Christianity out of the blue when I was 19 and had the call of ministry the same year, attented university for two years and worked under my pastor in almost an associate kind of way. I abruptly left it all and then spent the next ten years or so in the wilderness. Last year I felt the calling again and found your channel and I just wanted to tell you that your channel and your videos were and are a huge part of how I've been pulled out of the wilderness and finding myself in Christ again, and obeying my calling. I am in the trenches still but it is people like you that truly remind me that my calling and my Christ is working in me and for good.
