Load shedding has not always been there Jason. Zambia generates nearly 4000 Megawatts of electricity, with a power consumption of about 2800 Megawatts. All things equal, Zambia is an electricity surplus nation. Infact we do export, in normal rainfall seasons. Sorry, you came to Zambia during an el ninho season induced drought !

When I first arrived, it wasn't an issue. And a lot of people told me it wasn't normal. Is the internet improving or does it depend on the location?

As much as we haven't had any load shedding as late, we won't be too excited. Everything can change just like that in S.A. 😢

Everyone in SA is telling me how great it is right now, but i am skeptical. After being caught in the lift going up to the 17th floor, hard to trust SA lol

Its too congested too manypeople less services..it was planned well at independence..but over the decades unplanned settlements were allowed to grow in turn affecting how the city,cbd grows. Ndola and luanshya in my opinion were the best in terms of proper city planning .

@@jasonchaney777 Be sure to visit Kitwe too. Those are sort of our well to do cities. Ndola has fewer amenities and recreational services compared to the two but it is less crowded.

I too hate to hear about load shedding . However, I know that the new government is working hard to reach a stage soon where load shedding will be a thing of the past. Lusaka was not designed properly compared to cities like Ndola because the city has a good number of slums nearby. Political parties had made the situation worse by not employing qualified town planners, which I think the new government would like to reverse. There’s still room for improvement & with good good planners or advisors, the city can be great & expand in a better way. As someone has suggested, go to the city council town planning section & speak to the boss or team leader there & give them some suggestions. Just walk in there & ask to speak to the chief town planner. As for vegan foods, plan & open a restaurant, even a small takeaway restaurant to start with

Which province would you say is the best?
@kingslj

I trained & lived for a long time in Ndola. Thus I have a bias towards Ndola. The Copperbelt is my best Province although I like all the other provinces & there’s great potential for business in all the provinces. So in terms of doing business, it’s best for someone coming from outside Zambia to start in Lusaka, Ndola, Livingstone or any Copperbelt town or city & then branch into other provinces. However, anyone can succeed starting business in any province in Zambia. This is just my personal view, since I’ve not lived in Zambia for decades now. Thanks

Zambia was like Europe in the 80s and 90s since the first president was removed from power there has been poor governance and things have gone down, we used to have free water electricity 24/7 and education, up until democracy and multi party system was introduced and corrupti leaders who don't care about anybody started coming

We paid for water and electricity, KK was removed from office coz his time had come.. what happened after him is our fault for ushering in people who thought were smart and sold all SOEs, you should travel and see what multiparty systems do to their nations...a firm grasp of how the world works needs to be understood by black people..

I live in UK 🇬🇧 and I have travelled around Europe, I know what am talking about. I worked on the copperbelt in the 90s and early 2000, we never have to pay for electricity or water, housing was also free, the streets were clean and without beggers or streets children
