I found this sermon on Spotify as a podcast just a couple of hours ago. I was searching for ways to cope with debilitating anxiety, something that I’ve been struggling for months after a traumatic incident and like pastor shawn said, I’ve been believing that I will be stuck with this anxiety. That something is wrong with my brain, and I have to deal with it on my own, a constant war with intrusive and evil thoughts. When I clicked on this video within the first minute I was sobbing hysterically. I have never been so understood and felt so powerful in the moment knowing god is with me. I accept god in my life. I will praise him everyday. And I will use the strength he has given me to fight. Thank y’all.

Life Church thank you so much for this message. I dealed with anxiety a few years ago, it was childhood depression that needed to be healed. It was a season that God kept reminding me about the times that I was bullied… I started wondering why… I realized God wanted to heal me and He indeed healed me. Now the anxiety started to come back (from other causes) I needed this message so much, I know that God healed me one time trough prayers and He will do it again. Enjoyed your sermon about fighting back against the enemy and going into the spiritual part of the battle by being in God's presence. Really awesome that turning on the worship music & staying in prayer for 30 minutes each day changed things where you eventually stopped having those panic attacks. Also, the reference from the 27:00 mark about artillery to take into your week...🙂 I.e. The promises straight from God about what happens in our lives when we decide to fight by getting in His presence: Peace - Philippians 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Joy - Psalm 16:11 11 You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand. Rest - Exodus 33:14 14 And the LORD answered, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Confidence - Jeremiah 17:7 7 But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. This video came on after today's Life.Church service. One of the most honest and raw sermons I have heard. God knew I needed this!! So much of this helped my identify what I have been struggling with most of my life but especially in the last few years. I have suffered with depression most of my life. I am 61 years old. God has delivered me from suicidal thoughts for 12 years. I realized during this sermon is that I have been living with anxiety over the past 7 years without even realizing it! Covid, getting fired last year and working from home has only made it worse and I have never admitted it! Watching this again and starting his strategy (prayer and playlist) today.

He has some good points What works for one person doesn't work for another. Prayers do work and sometimes they are answered fast, sometimes slow and sometimes we don't get the answer we want. I believe we all have times that we think we can't make it through another day or even care if we do. We can't let the devil in. Don't keep those feelings bottled up, it makes it worse. Different things work for different people. Some people need medication some people just need to talk to someone. You can have strong faith but until time heals the pain you will still have these days to deal with.

I almost took my life back in 2012, and Pastor Shawn is so right! You will get through it and you will look back and see how much the Enemy wanted to steal from you. There are so many accomplishments, friends, experiences, and God moments I wouldn't have ever seen if I followed through on that permanent solution to a temporary problem. I have battled anxiety and depression most of my life, and something I hope other people get is that you are not "evil" or "less" of a Christian for dealing with this. Unfortunately, I used to attend a church where the senior pastor said that I was going through this because my faith and reliance on God weren't strong enough. I needed to believe in His promises more, I need to spend more time praying. I just want one person to know that you are not "lesser" because of fighting this. God made doctors and medicine for a reason, He gave people the gift of counseling for a reason. Never give up! Like Pastor Shawn said our enemy just wants to kill and destroy everything God has made. Satan knows he can't beat God so he is going to go after God's kids... because if you can't get at the person you go after the most important thing that person has.

Grateful for this message. My recent revelation after several years of doubting that God loves me is the fact that I believed He loved me even when dead in my sins. OF COURSE HE LOVES ME AS I STRIVE FOR AND DESIRE A REPENTANT LIFE REGARDLESS OF THE DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY I EXPERIENCED. It's an illness not a condemnation. Like diabetes it does not heal by pretending we don't have it.

This was a powerful word, this came to me in the right moment, I'm struggling with anxiety and depression, and this has been so exhausting, because as the pastor said, sometimes we as a Christians think that we shouldn't be dealing with this and this makes us feel worse, and a good friend have told me that, that it was a spiritual battle and you confirmed this with this word, because sometimes I think there is no common sense in my panic attacks, but all I know is that I feel hopeless, sad, and all I need is to cry. Thank you for helps us with this word, it has been helpful, I bless your life, I love Life Church and all you do.

This is very powerful, i struggle with bad anxiety and depression and I also have Borderline Personality Disorder, my mother committed suicide 3 weeks after my first birthday, my dad was shot and killed by the police 20 yrs later, i was molested by a babysitter when i was 8, I have struggled with anxiety all my life, i started having panic attacks when i was 11 or 12 yrs old and sure, suicide crosses my mind often but God always intervenes in some way and stops me. I had the worst panic attack that I ever had last year and it put me in the Emergency Room because i thought i was having s heart attack but i am grateful for it because i learn more when they are bad, i learn about God more.

Lord I pray in Jesus name you would set your son free of all depression, suicide, and anxiety. Lord by your stripes we are healed. Father we declare as of this day forward he will no longer suffer with these things. May you bless him with peace going forward. Thank you Pastor Johnson for that personal testimony. We know God allowed you to go through that so you can help others. Very brave of you to share how imperfect you are, as we all are imperfect but we fail to acknowledge or address those things we God and we fail to get help because of pride. The stronger we appear on the outside, the more difficult it is to seek help. Thank you so much. It was an eye opener for me and I will seek help now because I need it. Pray for me.

I'm literally feeling everything this man is taking about right now. I've battled my whole life, but in the last few months I've felt an exhaustion and hopelessness that I've never felt before.
