I'm always studying and doing everything I need to do, but I see these people going 100mph. Like they're volunteering, doing research, tutoring, teaching and various extracurriculars all while getting on the Dean's List every semester. And I'm just like if that's what I have ti be like to get into Med. School, I'm screwed.

TheFenerbahceSK just remember that it’s a marathon and not a race. Just do everything you have to do and get the grades you need to get. You don’t have to do it in 4 years; if you need a gap year take one. Just run the marathon and focus on yourself, constantly stressing about other people’s positions won’t help you

TheFenerbahceSK from my experience I think those student plan ( sometime study) ahead before the semester even start, and schedule their work’s day and time to achieve these goals, these time management skills helps in keeping such a productive balanced doable routine, there is a good book talking about priorities management for Steven Covey, it explains how these goals sometime can affect each other and how linking them might save your time for e.g if they study and master a topic of interest they would give tutoring session and volunteer or make up a chance for themselves such as social awareness campaign on the same topic. Planning your ideal day and life might help in reliving the stress of what to do first and gives you a full picture that you can adjust and manipulate according to your own goals, collage will not teach you how to do it, because it exceeds their responsibilities, believe in yourself and you will know how do it. Good luck 👍🏽

I personally know two people who neither did research nor volunteering, and both got into at least one medical school, haha. Crazy

I think it’s hard to be social and isolating. It takes a lot of mental strength.

You get out what you put in. If you sweat more during training, you will bleed less at war.

What kind of research? Not social science research?
@JaiMedicine6 жыл бұрын
Scientific research is helpful but honestly any kind of research will give you a big boost. If you can vouch for its importance in your application and come interview time, doing a more non-traditional kind of research may even be of help because it's more unique.
