If you were popular in High School, then you'll get an extension of that lifestyle in your 20s. Otherwise, if you were not part of the "it" group...then no, you're not missing out on much. 30s is where your life really begins...

I just want to say this is the most helpful video I have found on the internet to help me with some of the big feels I have been having. A little about why. I have decided to join the Air Force as I am feeling very stuck in my life circumstances and feel like is exactly what I am needing. I have found it hard to grow in the place I am in. I am 31 and swore into BMT a few weeks ago, I ship out in September. I am wrestling with the fact that I won’t be there for when my niece is born.😢 Which I find myself getting in my feelings about almost daily. My mom specifically is very worried about this being the wrong decision for me. So I am doing my best to do as much research in the next 2 months to decide if giving my 30’s away to the Air Force is in fact the best decision for me. Thanks again!

Thank you for this video my friend. I'm about 5 months and a couple days into the Navy. I just recently finished my first week at my first command, coming off of 'leave' vacation back at home. Lately, I've been feeling quite down on myself ever since I got here. I believe it to be 'homesickeness'. I guess it's just hard accepting the fact that I also signed for a five year contract and that I'm so far away from home, family, and friends. All the things that are all too familiar to me. I just miss it. I wake up questioning myself whether this was the right choice or not, almost a sense of depression for missing home, and wanting to have this contract finished as soon as possible. But I share the same ultimate goal with you. To be able to thank God at the end of my lifetime, knowing that I had an amazing and unique life. But this chapter, where I transition into adulthood is really tough in the mind. It's THIS sacrifice that I need in order to reach that ultimate goal. Where I need to learn my independence. Thank you. This video was really great, and I appreciated your shared wisdom. It re-opened motivation within me. It really did. Thank you again shipmate!

"The best thing in life is to create a unique life" woooww, such a good quote. I think I might quote you in my college essay :) need to remember this lol. I always get depressed for things in my life and people may question the way that I do things. Well at least I'm starting to be true to myself and accept myself for who I am and what I do. This is my elaboration on it, I paused the video and did not listen to your explanation yet. But wow! That hit me dude. Thanks for this video. A very realistic aspect of what you may feel getting into the military.

True indeed! I was ready to go home that first week in bootcamp. It's hard to believe how pampered my life was before then. You become indepent of your parents and other family members. You get the chance perhaps for the first time in your life to make decisions without their input. They were only 50/50 about my decision to leave for the military.Yes, not everybody can join. Matter of fact the military is harder than ever to get into. Old timers often got accepted with criminal records. Obese people were admitted. Back in the day even low IQ was not a hinderance. But back then the military offered less. Terrible work conditions, jackasses for supervisors and crap pay. That is no longer the case. Most importantly, the military has slowly won the support and respect from the American people. Vietnam had destroyed the public support but it's back.

+Yoon Ho Kim Hey Kim I am a recruit for the Army with a MOS of Automated Logistical Specialist or 92A1. I leave for BCT to Fort Jackson, SC in October 2016 then to Fort Lee, Virginia for my AIT ( Advanced individual Training). I got in as an E-4 because I have a degree in Computer Information Systems and a Masters of Science in Software Engineering. I am 29 years old and I would like to think I am physically well placed to take on the military challenge. My question is, in your experience, do people of my age tend to fair well and their fitness tests and everything associated with bodily challenge requirements? I know its a very dependent question, but any slight insight on that makes me a better prepared recruit for my challenge ahead. Thank you so much.

your first problem? you joined the Navy! Why the hell anyone would join the navy i do not know; "lets see, I'll most likely be on a ship that will be out to sea for about 6months a pop, when I am off duty I can lay in my bunk and stare at my roomies ass, or I can go outside and look at the ocean", high excitement!!! And as far as your waxing on about somehow "losing" your 20's, while Yoon, you know damned well if you were in Korea-which from your name I'd say your family is from-you would have been drafted with ZERO choices on how you would serve that time.
