I found this fascinating as so much of what you mentioned sounds so incredibly similar to my hallucinations, which from what I can tell and have been told by psychiatrists is pretty rare. Seems like lots of people's main issue is auditory hallucinations, and yes I have auditory hallucinations too but not many people that I've come across talk about the other senses. I've had psychiatrists be sceptical of if I'm even telling the truth when I describe things such as seeing a decapitated head on a plate in my living room, a decomposing body beside a footpath, an armchair moving like it's breathing, distorted faces, a luminous swirling purple mist covering everything, etc etc - stuff like that all the time . And they only seem to ask about the voices, not sure why. Or when I tell people that I also never got my drivers license due to how disorienting the distortions in vision and space can be, well it's just no one seems to have a clue what I'm on about, until I just saw you explain it here. Again, im blown away by how similar your symptoms are to mine. I'm not glad you have to deal with this but I have to say it feels good to know it's not just me. Thanks for sharing I appreciate it. Hope you're doing well 😊 (Edit: paragraphs, didn't mean to write an essay lol)

I definitely can empathize with a lot of these symptoms. I guess the worst part is just the fact that you feel like you have no control of your own mind and even reality. I don't have schizophrenia but I did have postpartum psychosis. Never had visual but did have auditory hallucinations and just that short episode I feel had a lasting impact on my life. I don't have hallucinations but I still live with symptoms of social anxiety and paranoia and these are mostly triggered by stress or over stimulation so I'm easily overwhelmed by things that most people don't even think twice about. For example even grocery shopping is a struggle with bright lights, beeping, and crowds of people are the worst. If something triggers me I can start to think people can read my thoughts or that I'm going to lose control and do something that makes me look crazy. So everyday situations that I wouldn't have thought twice about can literally be terror. It makes me feel trapped by my own mind. Schizophrenia does run in my family but I am 29 now so hopefully I am past the age of onset. I guess if I were to get proper treatment for this like some kind of cognitive behavioral treatment I would be able to manage this a lot better but a good psychiatrist that is actually affordable is hard to come by. Well it is in TN anyways. I don't know about other places.

And thank you for your openness. I know this is going to sound cliche but just knowing that I'm not alone and knowing there's some one out there that is struggling with some of the same issues makes me feel less like a freak. Because I can sit here and think o I know that there a lot of people out there struggling out there too but actually seeing a face to go with it gives me something I can actually relate to on a personal level. And for the longest time I felt completely like defective and useless and only focused on what I couldn't do bc of my disease. But I'm finally learning have pride in my strength that comes with having to overcome mental illness every day just to live my life. Just to freaking be a person basically. We are very strong people. I think that's the most important thing for us to always remember and truly believe to get through this. And prove the stigmitizing majority of the world that are so wrong about all of us.

This was also very helpful for my notes. Thank u! So many videos I've seen either don't give enough specific info, or the person just has trouble explaining n u can tell they have social anxiety n underdeveloped sense of communication, but u r very well spoken n intelligent. Also i found most of those "simulation" videos to be very annoying, not helpful at all, they just repeat the same things n copy off eachother n don't feel real n the voices always sound the same n say the same things. So i was like uh really? All ppl with schizophrenia hear Voldemorts voice from HP being mean n nasty to them? Lol come on. I mean i know it happens but the style n expression of those videos were terrible n felt fake. So again, thank u for your coherent, candid n open communication about it. I feel very sympathetic, even though I've never had any serious mental health issues besides anxiety n depression i know how important n powerful our minds r, n honestly its one of my biggest fears, so i appreciate your struggles n what u must face n i just wanna say i admire how u seem to handle it n wish u the best in life.

I want to run by you some supplements that have helped me, that may make it possible for you to not need medicine. Diet can help change the chemistry in your brain. Try these and eat a balanced diet for a couple months. I’ll bet you start to feel better and the hallucinations diminish. 1. Vitamin D3 (Jarrow Brand 5,000IU - take two to four per day) - This is especially necessary if you live above the 37 degree parallel (latitude) in the Fall and Winter (typically from September to March). The sun only produces Vitamin D3 in our body when it is 50 degrees (altitude not temperature) above the horizon and even during the Spring and Summer, this only occurs from around 10AM in the morning to 2-3PM in the afternoon. So you have only a 4 to 5 hour window in the morning to afternoon when the sun is producing Vitamin D3, which most people aren't really out during those times, because of work schedule. This is why around 75 to 80% of the world population are D3 deficient! A good source of information on this is Dr. John Cannell. Go research how vital and important D3 is for us! You want your ng/ml (nano-grams per milliliter of blood) to be from 50 to 100 (or even slightly over 100 is fine too!). 2. Magnesium (CALM BRAND) - Magnesium is the driver for Vitamin D3. It’s very important and we don’t get enough of it in our diet on average. 3. Vitamin C (take around 2,000mg per day) - Look up Dr. Thomas Levy and Dr. Linus Pauling for good information on this. The Liposomal type of Vitamin C is the best kind! 4. Vitamin K2 (different from Vitamin K1 - Get the Jarrow Brand called Vitamin K-Right) - Millions of people take calcium supplements to maintain healthy bones. Yet few patients or physicians realize that optimizing bone integrity involves more than taking a single mineral supplement. A critical additional component for bone and cardiovascular health is vitamin K2. Recent research has revealed that, without vitamin K2, calcium regulation is disrupted. In fact, low levels of vitamin K2 are associated with an increased risk of heart disease and atherosclerosis. K2 is the gateway that allows calcium to get to your bones. When you take vitamin D3, your body creates more of these vitamin K2-dependent proteins, the proteins that will move the calcium around. They have a lot of potential health benefits. But until the K2 comes in to activate those proteins, those benefits aren't realized. So, really, if you're taking vitamin D, you're creating an increased demand for K2. And vitamin D and K2 work together to strengthen your bones and improve your heart health.For so long, we've been told to take calcium for osteoporosis... and vitamin D3, which we know is helpful. But then, more studies are coming out showing that increased calcium intake is causing more heart attacks and strokes. That created a lot of confusion around whether calcium is safe or not. But that's the wrong question to be asking, because we'll never properly understand the health benefits of calcium or vitamin D3, unless we take into consideration K2. That's what keeps the calcium in its right place. 5. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) Ubiquinol - it’s a substance similar to a vitamin. It is found in every cell of the body. Your body makes CoQ10, and your cells use it to produce energy your body needs for cell growth and maintenance. It also functions as an antioxidant, which protects the body from damage caused by harmful molecules. (Get the Jarrow Brand - no I don’t work for them, but I’ve heard they are the best in all of these, and it’s what I take). 6. Vitamin B-Right (Jarrow) which has all of the B vitamins in it. Niacin (B3) has proven to be very helpful for those with Schizophrenia and Psychosis. Look up Dr. Abram Hoffer and his research on mental illness and Niacin. Careful with Niacin in huge quantities, as it will cause a 'flushing' effect, but you still want enough to get the benefits. 7. Oxylent (which is one of the best tasting and best multi-vitamins out there in my opinion). It’s got most of all you need in there when included with what I mentioned above. (Those are the main ones above, but here are a few other supplements I take. ChlorOxygen, Serrapeptase {SerraGold Brand}, mushroom supplement called 'Breathe' by New Chapter Life-shield, HealthForce Green Alchemy Protein Powder, HealthForce Vitamineral Green, Probiotics, MSM, Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, local honey, and avocados for potassium, along with getting at least a half gallon of water per day - which I drink at least 32 oz. to 50 oz. of water on an empty stomach every morning). And a big one, get a good sleep schedule! P.S. get off of Gluten and/or dairy (as well as chocolate which is a stimulant). People with food sensitivities (especially those with Celiac) are many times more likely to have a mental illness like Schizophrenia.

Taste hallucination is a real thing, check out Jacob at kzbin.infovideos I don't recall which video it is where he's saying he was tasting olive oil all the time, a taste he hates the most, but it's there somewhere. I personally love olive oil it's healthy, but wouldn't want to have such taste in my mouth all day.
@MyOddExperiences7 жыл бұрын
This guy is a fantastic KZbinr. That sounds awful, considering how much he hates the taste. I really couldn't imagine experiencing that regularly. Since this video I've only had one taste hallucination, I tasted copper for a couple hours. It was only annoying though, thankfully copper isn't very gross.
@codergames7 жыл бұрын
I taste iron sometimes, even if my gums or teeth are not bleeding or I didn't accidentally pinched or cut my lip while chewing. It's odd, because it's not really a hallucination, it could be anything, maybe even craving for iron, since I'm vegan. I don't know how copper tastes, I never ate copper alone. I heard you saying you hate the smell of b12 in the pee, not sure which video of yours is it in, it has been quite some time since my last visit, says 2 months ago in my previous comment, phew, but that's why I'm wondering how do you know how b12 smells. I'm taking b12 supplements sometimes and these are the supplements that taste of strawberries, so I wouldn't know how it tastes or smell, it's a vitamin that is present in a very small quantities in all supplements. Could it be that you're getting thoughts and that your brain is actually fabricating the information that is missing, for example, you're thinking about how something tastes or smells and then your brain is fabricating that for you, the information you're looking for?

Are you into the macabre? Horror movies or horror novels? I have been so horrified with my schizo affected disorder that I didn't think I'd enjoy macabre things again. But I guess I'm a stubborn soul and I enjoy the genre. I could read books on nature I really do enjoy that but...I have not had a taste hallucination but smell is associated with taste and I have had good and bad scent hallucinations. I believe anybody can have those scent hallucinations by meditating. Funny thing about getting drunk. While I don't drink today when I did drink and get very drunk I didn't experience spinning sensation but a falling sensation. I'd fall then rise and then fall over and over. I have time distortion big-time I may not need to have an afterlife because of my extended lifespan. Ha, ha , sounds funny I know. One day I had time constriction and I didn't really care for it. I just took things easy that day and stayed relatively busy.

What do you mean by see, do they look like holograms or like fully physical beings?
@MyOddExperiences4 жыл бұрын
They look mostly like holograms except without any pixelation. They are usually mostly transparent but still easy to see. You could also say they look like ghostly versions of beings or objects because they are transparent and not as real as everything else. At my worst, like before I was medicated they might look like solid objects and I might think they were completely real.

He spent some time in a hospital and has lived in his sisters basement for almost 20 years now i go by there sometimes although he seems coherent amd remembers who i am he just acts like he wants to be left alone. @MyOddExperiences5 жыл бұрын
Poe Lemic Most hallucinations come and go very quickly or if they do persist they change or transform quickly. When I was really bad and having the hallucinations mentioned at 2:20 though, idk what made them so different but when they got bad they stayed there. They often happened worst in the dark and regular objects would be replaced by horrible things. In the light it’s more subtle and horrid things didn’t often stay in one state for a long time.

Time dilation. Oh fuck that shit!
@MyOddExperiences7 жыл бұрын
To be clear to anyone who misunderstood, this is not time dilation like in action movies where everything is slowed down. Everything seems to move at normal speeds, even a stopwatch, but if I were to guess the length of a minute, it would only be several seconds. Same applies to larger scales of time. Looking back, it's hard to say if I experienced actual time dilation. Periods of time could definitely feel very long, but after a while it became difficult to correlate my perception of time with other incorrect perceptions. I think my perceived changes in the flow of time might just be how normal people experience it. With a lot of stimulation at once (or very little), where focus isn't on anything specific, time seems very slow. When focussing on something intensely, time goes faster. I think this is how most people perceive time, but it's possible that schizophrenia distorts my perception of time or that symptoms of schizophrenia effect my focus which effects my perception of time.
