I found out how much they care about us. When I began living in Honduras and needed help with an immigration process, the branch (which existed here then) wouldn't help me. They said, We help our missionaries, you're on your own. So I was like gee, thanks guys. I was there of my own accord, gave up a career in Amurica, went against everyone who thought I was crazy, all to further "Jehovah's interests", and consequently I was removed as an MS/acting elder because I didn't have legal residence fast enough. Thanks guys, that just widened the crack in my foundation. I kept waiting for JAH to move his hand on behalf of his faithful servant so that I could serve him fully, never happened.

👋Hi there, Stacey! I'm 3rd Gen JW, baptized at 13, just went through the motions without giving any thought to the huge responsibility this action brings on a "Child". When I was graduating H.S., my Mom discerned that times were changing and I needed more education. She got into big trouble when, defying my Elder Dad, She supported me in going to College. Once there, I went through the rebellion phase and also began using critical thinking with the JW religion. When I took a Sociology course on the world religions, it was sooo eye-opening that NEVER did I see the Org the same... The JWs were nothing more than just one of the thousands of religious Faiths. As time passed, I just continued going through the motions up until today. These days, my much beloved Hubby has left the Eldership and has followed a bit on my PIMO ways... We're really having a nice time, traveling and enjoying life more. With so many immediate relatives still hook-line-and-sinker inside the WTBTS, We really cannot leave, but in doing as little as possible, life's more enjoyable lately. I really appreciate you. Thanks. ❤

My mom became a single parent at 15. The elders conspired to give me to my paternal JW grandparents. A worldly aunt prevented it. Mom is now 80 & is still trying to gain JW’s favor. She’s been invited to baby showers, wedding receptions, restaurant meals where she’d inevitably brought gifts or paid for far more than her share. Even letter writing was a place she was invited to drop off a roll of stamps, but not to stay. Soft shunned her entire life. To this day she cries about how much she wanted to be friends. She’s waiting for Jehovah’s new system to magically correct the situation. My mom loves Jehovah & believes he cares 🤷♀️💔 Even if she’s right, her life has been wasted trying to make him love her or at least to care about her 😭

I will admit, as an adult, I tried to go back for a social outlet for my disabled wife in about 2015. What a rude awakening. Going back as a 40 something and not having rose colored glasses, it took about 3 years to leave permanently. Once mom passed in 2020, I was truely out and completely washed my hands, guilt free. I really like this episode, because, instead of reciting facts about the immoral wrongdoings of leadership and misinterpretations of the original text, it touches on the emotional reason why so many stay in the org, that they crave the community feeling. And I wanted to say I appreciate the multiple platforms - sometimes I enjoy binging older episodes on Spotify, but I also like the KZbin uploads because I can interact in a more direct way. Keep doing your important work. As I was raised in this org, I just wanted to be a good person and listen to my parents, but I also thought the group understood me because they said we were all "not of this world". But that was probably just my neurodivergent personality trying to find a sympathetic environment when everything else was just harder for me than my siblings, and eventually I realized the reality that they are just like every other crowd control scheme, especially when it came to controlling women. I still feel like I'm from a different planet, but I now have a better idea why, thanks to science and research. The truth is out there, but not with the JW Org.

I was around 11-12 years old when I started studying with JWs. I was very close to my mom, and joined her when she started studying. The big hook for me, however, was the book study because we were working on The Revelation book. In fact, our first meeting with the congregation coincided with the beginning of that book study. The reason this was so appealing for me was all the imagery, fantastic creatures. I mean, I've always been a pretty geeky guy, so dragons, multiheaded beasts, and horsemen, that was right up my alley! The other thing that worked for me was all the positive reinforcement I got from answering the questions during meetings (teacher's pet complex, I guess). Oh, and "free" books (donate what you can, or what you think it's worth...) What pulled me out was realizing I was gay while I was away at university and being exposed to a much wider variety of perspectives. And then looking at the doctrines more closely, especially the stuff related to science vs creationism.

Spot on Stacy. Watchtower primary concern is their financial assets. Children are of no consequence because they don't generate tax-free revenue. At least not yet. Another great one! And good you point out chapter 20 again of the elder’s manual and the contrast with how CSA is being handled. Just today someone replied I was lying when I shared printscreens (!!!) of pages from mostly chapter 14 (2019 edition) where the instructions are for handling CSA. When I replied and shared the video of Geoffrey Jackson in the Australian court, he asked if I got it from their JW website and that I needed to be careful since nowadays with AI people can create anything they want. Some people (or ”a lot of JWs) choose to stay blind and no amount of proof will wake them up, or at least not now... I will wait and see if the subconscience will start helping the poor guy.
@cultytalk Жыл бұрын
Make sure you let that person know that the ARC court case was in 2015 - BEFORE deep-fake AI clones were even well known & VERY FEW extremely skilled people even TODAY can make those replicas so that they are believable! The amount of TIME & EFFORT it would take to get every facial expression & mouth movement to match a "fake script" would be unbelievably difficult & again, only a very skilled person could do so even today. Back then? It was almost unheard of altogether! Secondly, they can go to the ARC site themselves and download the whole TRANSCRIPT! ... Or do they believe that the Australian government would care THAT MUCH about Geoffrey Jackson & Watchtower to go out of their way to FAKE a few HUNDRED PAGES of typed testimony word-for-word JUST to "trick" a JW! LMAO 🤣 Obsurd!! If they believe that to be true, just sit back and LAUGH at that point! ~ My best to you!

Besides I had a spiritual side, and struggled with killing another human being. My wife's cousins being a Native American was in heavy action, came home with a necklace of ears he cut off dead Vietnamese Soldiers he killed in action. He was truly psychologicaly disturbed and I did not want to become that kind of a human being. Jehovah's Witnesses gave me or supported my heartfelt views as they were being formed that would become me. Plus we would visit 5 brothers in a federal low security prison nearby to encourage them. Even Joan Baez came through town protesting her Husbands imprisonment in that prison. Which gave me courage to stand up against the Vietnamese War. It was a very politically charged time in America. Not to mention friends I went to High School with were coming home in a box, and I hardly knew a family that did not have a son in Vietnam!😢

Stacy let me share with you how i realized they don't care about none of us , a brother in our congregation had some mental problems , he was roaming around acting up and doing all sort of things unspeakable, he started stalking one of my friends and she was very concerned . She lured him to the elders and they told her that unless he comes and ask for help from them personally, they can't do anything about it because it was his personal issues and that if hes is bothering her that much , she should turn him over to the police , my friend decided that she was never going to do that to her friend , much less her fellow black brother . She eventually lured him to the hospital where he was able to get treatment and is doing very fine now The same week they called me to talk about how my grooming was not giving a good witness and that it will prevent people from listening to the message , i told them, it was my personal problem and if people won't listen thats not my problem, they were shocked when i asked them how can a jw roaming around acting up less damaging to their brand than what i wear

Wow - good for you! You know... it always bothered me how they really pressured the black JWs to look "whiter", like I personally love a big, beautiful black afro! I've always loved that look on a lady. But they just suck the natural beauty & culture out of literally EVERY culture! It's so gross to me. I knew several black sisters who would straighten their hair pin-straight just to conform to the conventional "white" look. And I never saw anyone in natural braids or anything. Only young children sometimes would wear braids & beads. It's just sad to me. Like, if that's the PERSON'S choice, then OK, but when you see every single woman and they're ALL doing that? @icufool exactly my observations too , I have always been a proud African and I always asked our elders why they couldn't wear African prints on the platform and they always said " well we have to give a good witness and people may not be drawn to the massage if they are not familiar with the culture " it never made sense to me how we all had to look like cooperate Americans, but now I fully understand 😉 About the hair , I always rocked my Afro and the sisters always said to straighten it because it looked much better , I never listened.

I was seriously depressed when they came to my door. I can honestly say the org kept me alive. I felt sorry/compassion?? For them because everyone hated them. Wanted to see if hatred was justified. I guess the scripture about how God knows when a sparrow has fallen, how much more valuable you are, was soothing. Loved the passage at Isaiah 33? About how he would search for his wounded sheep and judge the fatted from the lean, made me feel as if he was personally involved. A video I heard, stripping ideology or a belief system from the practice, that prayer is helpful. People have a need or a sense of comfort, feeling that someone more powerful could listen and be aware of your feelings.

Hello. Noone is saying those parts of the Bible aren't beautiful. They are. There are many who left JW and have not left a belief in God! Just because someone leaves, despite what you may have been told, does not mean they are leaving their faith in the Bible & some still prefer to worship Jehovah believe it or not. You realize that it's not only JWs that worship Jehovah, right? There are actually quite a few religions that worship Jehovah as the "true god." Secondly, I'm happy for you that you found comfort there. I used to also. But then I realized that there are many places I got the exact same feeling & I never had to worry in those place that should I even question a doctrine or a leader that I'd be singled out and ostracized for my questions! Finally, to this day, I've only heard of maybe one or two exJWs that "hate" Jehovah's Witnesses. Most of us actually really LOVE Jehovah's Witnesses! That's our families!! I'm sorry you were told exJWs hate JWs. I've never met a worldly person who hates them either in all my 53 years! Every worldly person I knew was open accepting & loving of JWs. It's so sad that JWs think everyone hates them & is out to get them when the exact opposite is truth and meanwhile, who is teaching people that everyone else is going to die, just so JWs can have the entire planet to themselves while everyone else gets slaughtered? 🤔 💭 Hm.... have an amazing day. I wish you well.

@@cultytalk Where I lived, when JWs came to my door, there were basically no JWs around. Five in the county. People said not to listen to them and were adamant about it. The word hate was a bit strong to use. Never heard about apostates and never heard about Jehovah’s Witnesses till that point that they knocked on my door. I have learned in the past few years that the doctrines are wrong and policies are hurtful. And that it is not the truth. The introduction to that particular video was encouraging use to express or think what attracted us or kept us going. Not the exact words he used.

I remember when i merrier back in 1982, for that time the changes in policy for the use of contraceptives. I remember there were a lot of marriages at the time in the congregation (like 7 couples) and the advises of older JWs telling us not to have babies because Armageddon was around the corner. The talks of what is allowed and what prohibited by gb done on the bedroom. At the time we believed it was part of Jehovah will (ignorant). some of these couples ended divorced because of these talks and literature. We ended having babies that today have given us grandkids!!! And I remember in 1990 I had my 3rd child and I was praying to Jehovah not to change the policy so I can operate and have no more. Because the policy went back and forth!! Thank you for you talk! Every sentence you say is do true! They don’t care about children and less protect them. Glad my children ran away of this cult!!😮

And you can add refusing to reinstate members who do want to come back; even if it's only to see their family and dear friends again and to derive some encouragement from them ! I myself want reinstatement for those reasons only. And there have been many videos on YT about these people that appealed for reinstatement, and were told by the elders that there hasn't been enough time gone by! I don't care if I belong to an organization; as if that's the requirement for survival thru the end of this wicked system. And I certainly don't give a rat's rear end about the ignorant and selfish clowns in New York HQ who want to rule my life like the Pharisees of Jesus' day did! Particularly, it's the elders who are supposed to be loving shepherds; who search for stray sheep, who treat them with tenderness, and who lead by example that should NEVER TURN DOWN A REQUEST FOR REINSTATEMENT BY A PUBLISHER!-- 1 Peter 5: 3;......Matt. 18: 12 ,...Luke 6: 36, 37 and many other texts! The elders worship the governing body; so what should we expect in their conduct toward the congregation? If your role model and bosses are snooty, selfish, arrogant old men who've lived off the donations of millions of people for most of their adult life; then you as an elder are going to be just like them! I am now sending a 16 page letter to the US Branch that exposes and reproves these self-righteous a-holes using scripture after scripture! Yes I was an elder for 14 years, served at Bethel with Ray Franz and raised a JW, so I know my Bible, just like you do Stacy! Here's just a tip of the iceberg of scriptural admonition for elders and their bosses in NY: Romans 14: 2-12.....READ IT.!............................1 Tim. 5: 21,....READ IT!............James 4: 11, 12,...READ IT! 1 Corinth. 4: 3-6....READ IT!......Acts 20: 29, 30,......READ IT! And no, ANYBODY that does not treat the "flock of God" with tenderness is an "oppresive wolf"! Not just the 2nd and 3rd century promoters of pagan teachings and a church heirarchy! Elders need to stop expelling people whose opinions on personal matters differ from theirs! Even if I or someone else had committed a serious sin mentioned in 1 Corinth. 5, if one is sorry for what he/she did, then leave it at reproof, and keep them as a member of the fold of Christ's sheep! Keep up the good work Stacy; your broadcasts are hard hitting while at the same time spun with humor! While I don't agree with all of your beliefs; I do appreciate your waking up as I did and getting off the hypocritical JW train. 😆😉😊

My instant gratification? Approval. "Atta girl!" Doing the "right thing." That's what it was for me. And the flip side of it---if I DON'T do this, my mom will be disappointed, God will be sad. All things gloomy and bad. In my congregation there never was a community, at least not for me---the spiritual mongrel child of a non-believer and a spiritually weak mother. I could never rely on the other witnesses for ANYTHING. Ever. So for me, there was no pull of the community. I had FAR more reliable friends in the world---in school, at work, my non-believing family. Within the congregation, it was just long-distance love, at best. It boggles my mind to hear that some JW's went to other congregations, and that "instant friends" thing actually happened, like when going abroad or something. I never experienced love in my congregation, so I wouldn't have expected it elsewhere either.

"All will know that you are my disciples by the love you show one another". Shame Jesus's words are not practiced by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Their actions prove they don't care about children, they allow CSA to be practiced on a rampant scale, paedos protected by the 2 witness rule, and these predators given carte blanche because they're not reported to the police. Yet if a Kingdom Hall is broken into the secret elders manual says report the crime immediately to the police. Property is more important than safeguarding the kids, which says all anyone needs to know about this corrupt organisation.
