I contacted your sales rep for editing on my novel. The quote was so high I'm still scratching my head.

I also had an interview with a sales rep from your company to edit a book proposal and it was an outrageous amount of money BEFORE the book was ever written!

My comment is about what you offer free to the general audience of writers, new and old. This was on point, as usual. What I've been finding out is the wide range of opinion about exactly what the traditional publishers want regarding memoirs, in particular. Some say they want just a general proposal. Others indicate that the entire memoir is preferred. Still others indicate that several chapters are expected, along with chapter summaries. Hope to hear more on this topic later. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for your comment! The general standard for memoir is a book proposal that includes sample chapters. Of course, every agent and publisher has their own specific submission requirements and you may need to adapt your proposal to fit their desires.

I have been coaching a specific niche due to my own personal experience (I once was where they are) so this would be me. (in that sense). I have been trying to write my book but I've been struggling because I have some scenes written, some fulll text parts, and also multiple outlines. I just can't seem to get the story out of me. That must sound strange because it's not a novel but "memoir" (my own lived experience). I don't understand why I have been struggling with this. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Thanks for sharing! There are many possibilities. A book coach can provide valuable outside perspectives and help you get unstuck. Or maybe you can join a writers' group to get feedback.
