Why are Arsenal fans being blamed? The entire footballing world criticised him, from every fanbase. Same footballing world, which includes City fans all were calling for Saka to be dropped for no reason. Saka who had a great individual season, whose consistent for England in there eyes had to be dropped for Palmer & Foden. Also Saka gets harshly criticsed every game by all fanbases and trends after every game. This is the first time ever Foden got some criticism and even then the sentiment is Foden isn't a Left winger & being let down by the coach. If Saka had struggled instead, would there been more understanding from fans, would the sympathy be the same. No, Saka would have been ridiculed badly & Palmer+ Bowen be demanded replace him. There would be no manager or team not getting the best out of Saka talking if he struggled. People were alot more comfortable when the criticism fell Saka way & now uncomfortable when it falls Foden way.

Both Bellingham and Foden are undroppable. Bellingham should be used as an 8. Apart from the goal yesterday's game showed that he's a very good ball carrier but not really s great 10. Also it didn't help that Foden had Trippier for support who's right footed at LB. Not saying Foden played well yesterday but he should be the no. 10 with Gordon on LW. Jude isn't a good creator, Foden is. Similarly Jude is a far better ball progressor and carrier. Just by benching TAA for Gordon will solve so many of England's creative issues.

The lack of runners in behind the backline is what makes us both boring and fairly impotent. Kane offers nothing in that regard and so what’s the point in having players like foden in the team anyway if there are no passes to thread through? Sure, saka ran in behind a couple times but he much prefers coming inside off the touchline and just one player willing to do that isn’t enough. It’s also pointless having Trent in the team for the same reason. Assuming that kane has to play being first name on the team sheet for Gareth, you absolutely have to play another winger that will go beyond him or just suffer with very limited opportunities all match.

Listened to Southgate’s post match comments and it was a role they asked him to play to facilitate Jude to be more free. He’s never played in a midfield 2, it was an entirely new position for him. The moments he was able to get forward, he was so much better, almost scored and created 2 chances in the space of a few minutes. It’s not a trent issue, it’s a Southgate issue. Trent will likely already be much better on Thursday because he learned from this game and it won’t be the first time he’s playing it. Who would do better? Gallagher didn’t do much and I don’t think Mainoo is used to a midfield 2 either… I’m not familiar enough with Wharton’s game to know how he’d do. Based on the midfielders he selected, I don’t think a 4-2-3-1 is the way to go because he doesn’t have that 3rd midfielder to play there. And also…. Why on earth play a 4-2-3-1 when that’s not how they played any of their friendlies? Is the point not to workout what’s best for the team in those friendlies? Even more so… if he is going to play a 4-2-3-1 then Trent is better at RB because there’s more defensive protection with that set up. People go on about his defensively frailties at RB but he was more exposed in the middle.

Saka was great in the 1st half but Serbia came out 2nd half and played a physical game Saka and Foden shrunk they wanted no part of the rough stuff. TAA showed nothing he's a right-back trying to play midfield, needs to play at right-back or not at all. Saka deserves to keep his place on his 1st half performance.
