Greek here, I agree with everything. Also, don't go hiking or long walks or whatevers during heatwaves. This summer few tourists died cause of this.

@evelina1803 24 күн бұрын
And the most important advice she forgot to give. Don't go for a hiking or jogging from 13.30 to 16.30 Due to climate change we have really hot, tropical summers. So you don't want to be under the sun in the 45 degrees Celsius and definitely doing some kind of outdoor activities that time of the day would be suicidal.
@maidas1905

1) It should be quite obvious to people once they are there, heath does show ;). 2) People visit Athens in other seasons too, not just in summer.

@@maidas1905 Well, it wasn't quite obvious for Michael Mosley a BBC journalist. Google it, since you don't live in Greece like i do and you don't have a clue. Unfortunately, there are many tourists like him, they go for a hiking in the 45 degrees and.. die. Most of the tourists visit Greece during summertime. There are reports by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. You know you can also google that or you can be another ignorant commenter.

We stayed at a hotel in Omonia, which has plenty of great budget-friendly options and a fantastic mix of bars and restaurants. However, a few streets in the area are a bit rough around the edges, with some unpleasant smells and sights. It’s not uncommon to see some unsavory characters out and about, so solo travelers might want to avoid booking a hotel in this area.
