One that flew under the radar for me, for a while, was the ability to change the color of the light in the Sunshine effect. In some cases (usually warmer) has yielded a preferred effect; in others (usually cooler) proven useful to fine tune the color grading of the lighter tones in images.

Thanks Scott. Very useful tips. Always happy to have my attention bought to these tips as sometimes I use the adjustments without really knowing exactly what they are doing or capable of.

Very helpful, Scott. I use On1 but don't use these tools/tips as much as I should. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Mary! It can be challenging to keep all of the knobs and sliders in mind. Our tools are so powerful and full featured these days. :)

Best tip for me was none of the above, it was "the O key turning on the mask overlay" Never knew the overlay existed. I knew the other 3 things and Ive only had ON1 for a couple of months.

Mahalo, Scott. I frequently use the Midtone slider and find it very helpful. Your tip about adjusting the sensitivity of the Perfect Brush is wonderful and will no doubt come in quite handy!

Hi Scott. I sure do love your tutorials as I always seem to learn something. I just edited (a couple of days ago) a handful of shots and could not understand why, in Effects, in Tone Enhancer, there was no midtone slider. Thanks for pointing out I was just looking in the wrong places… Very helpful, thanks!
@ScottDavenport5 жыл бұрын
The Tone Enhancer is the grand-daddy of filters. You can do a ton with it. For midtone adjustments, though, the slider in Develop is easier than busting out the tone curve in the Tone Enhancer.
Thanks Scott, wish my on1 works as smoothly as yours does. Maybe you can show everyone your settings and how to get to them and what to do. Step by Step kinda thing because after new update on windows on1 is sloppy slow after just a few layers and minor adjustments. Hope you can do the video on windows seems like many people have more issues then Mac Thanks big guy keep up the great work.

Hi Kenny... I don't have a Windows system to try things on. My Mac is going on 4 years old, so it's not a super-snappy new processor. I do have a healthy amount of RAM in my system, which helps. I'd advocate having 32GB for photo editing (irrespective of the package, ON1, LR, etc.). I have 64G, although that's because I run several apps simultaneously, including video editing.

Scott Davenport thanks Scott I also have a pretty healthy PC. I7 Lenovo yoga I believe my system only has 16GB ram that might be a issue with mine. Have to spend more money for a program that should work with my setup sucks. But I learn so much from you great stuff Scott.

Been using On1 Photo Raw 2019 (latest update) since November, but the application is so slow, even on my powerful PC (win 10 64bit). I have been working on a relatively simple cut out from a GH5 file, but after doing the initial Ai cutout and then doing some edge refines etc., when I re-open the file next time it can take 10 -15 minutes just to open, am I missing something or is this application just slow. I did google the problem and see other users are having similar speed issues.
@ScottDavenport5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vincent.... 10 minutes is an eternity and it should not be taking that long. Double check that the cache sizes set in the Preferences weren't accidentally made small (not likely). After that, that's a topic for ON1 tech support. ON1 also has an active Facebook community. Maybe other Windows users have some ideas to offer.

@@ScottDavenport Thank you for your prompt reply, yes I have checked all the preferences tabs and cleared the cache. At the moment I have just resorted to using Photoshop CS6 again, and will wait for a bug fix update as several people are also having speed related issues.

I like the dehazing
@ScottDavenport5 жыл бұрын
Dehaze can revive a lot of photos. Do you find yourself using the haze slider in Develop, or selectively with the Local Adjustments?
