Little steer to start giving the car a hint of what you are going to do.. nice way to put it. I think I will use that. Much better than saying get a little lean and load up the suspension, right before you turn in.

I can't take credit! I took that from somewhere,... can't remember where though, but it stuck with me.

Increasing the steering gradually into the corner entry up to some maximum steering angle at the apex is also due to the yaw rate of the car increasing during entry which changes the relative motion of the front tyres to the ground and thus changes the optimal slip angle (relative to the car center line) for peak grip. For example, turning right, the tangential velocity added to the front left tyre leads to a combined velocity vector that is point more to the right than the linear momentum vector of the car at it's center of gravity.

Intriguing phenomenon. The best videos from the technical point of view are frequently underrated. Congrats and long live.

@@LastTenth I've been playing GT7 for a while now but I could not do proper advanced trail braking. Your "how to identify you are entering the corner too slow" cheatsheet made me 3 seconds faster in a 90 second lap circuit, besides achieving gold time in 80% of the in sector experience and licensing. And I drive using the wireless controller.

Thank you. Amazingly enough, Wreckfest demonstrates this tip really well. When using the follow high camera you get a good view of the front wheels, and the game demonstrates over, under, and neutral steering very clearly. I use a Moza R5. Well worth a look.

Thanks for sharing! You're right. I generally review under/oversteer in the data though, which can be quantified.

You were spot on! My main problem was that I was going too fast and missing the apex a lot and when I did hit the apex I was too slow. I also lost control often. Turns out I was not looking enough far ahead
@LastTenth Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it helped you! By looking ahead, everything should feel a lot more effortless.

Firstly, Great Video, keep these coming! But I have a question about the vision. Will it be too early to look at the apex or exit while you’re still breaking? I find myself somehow decrease the precision or sense of feeling that I’m carrying right enough amount of speed into the corner if I was already looking at the apex or exit as soon as the breaking process started.
@LastTenth Жыл бұрын
Hey Thanks! No it will not be too early. You definitely should be looking at the apex before you finish threshold braking/turn in; if you don't know where you're turning to, how would you know where to turn and by how much, right? Depending on the brake zone, you may even need to have eyes on the apex at the beginning of braking or before initial brake. Also, just because you're looking at the apex, it doesn't mean you can't glance back (and forth) at markers for braking and/or turn in.
@LastTenth Жыл бұрын
Precision 'could' be a separate issue.
