Very informative Sanjee. I would like to see a video where you compare the Host Plus index balanced fund with other funds like Australian Super High growth. Would like to know your opinion as you are invested in the former, is it good and would you recommend it? I used the ATO super comparison tool and put in all the numbers of performance and fees for the above 2 funds and in the end it shows the latter will give you more gains (even if you take in consideration the high fees), i was surprised as I was expecting it will be the other way round.

Hi Sanjee, thanks a lot for your great video as always. Could you please also create a comprehensive video about SMSF?

Off topic, but. Is there an option for short term savings. I have started investing in EFT's for long term. But need to save for 6-12 months for an up coming expense. Money in an everyday savings account earns nothing. So any short term safe & stable options?

Choose an industry fund over a retail fund. I pretty much destroyed my Super during my late twenties and most of my thirties by not being in an industry fund. Plus long periods of unemployment destroyed it as well. In my early 40s, I am happy to say I switched to AustralianSuper (Sept 2012). That decision increased my Super by at least four-fold in roughly 9 years with little contribution. I am way behind where I need to be. I choose 50% balanced, 30% International Shares and 20% Australian Shares. If I was less conservative, I would have chosen 0% balanced. I am much older than most of your audience. My warning to them is don’t be like me by the time you get to my age. Choose carefully when you are young and be prepared to change quickly and always stay informed. I hope no one strikes unlucky in life (with employment or life situations).

I can’t do SMSF. I don’t have enough plus I might stuff it up. Only when my personal investment outperforms my Super (by a MASSIVE margin) would I consider a SMSF. There’s so much compliance work, etc. It is not worth the risk (of me making mistakes).
