Dude I did the food trick with my pup when I got him almost 3 years ago. When I tell you that this is such a strong tool. Such simple animals it’s amazing

Every mealtime, I ask Max the guide dog to sit somewhere, stay and then I got to his food bowl and blow a whistle. The very same whistle that I use when we’re out and about on a free run. His recall is amazing.

Great tips, luckily i've raised my lab very similar to you recommended methods. I do leave a small amount of food out incase he wants a snack but he usually only eats when I do. Labs are prepackaged perfection.

I've used your training with my 2 year old yellow female and it worked amazingly! She's such a good girl and loves to please. We are getting a 2nd, a chocolate male in about 3 weeks, and I will definitely use all of these tips every day. Question: should I loose leash walk them together at first or give my boy some time to learn alone? Thanks!

My lab used to jump qnd knock the food bowl out my hand when I got her 0_o Now I get her to enter her crate, sit down, I put the bowl in, shut & lock the door, make her look at me for a minute, then say 'eat' and she actually sits nicely waiting for it now ^_^

I can't get my lab to walk nicely 😭 Everyday I try SO hard to teach her to walk nicely, stopping and/or even turning the other way if she pulls....doesn't make a difference 🤣 In a quite place, like at home, she'll walk nicely beside me for a treat , but out in the street she's not even interested in treats she just pulls and won't listen q😭
